So yummy and comforting!!!!!!
A little slice of Japan in Kearny Mesa. The restaurant is cozy but not cramped. The service was very attentive and quick. The tonkatsu tasted like I was transported to Japan. The pricing is reasonable. The biggest surprise was the curry. It was super flavorful with just a hint of heat, exceptional. This place is a serious treat. If you are craving authentic Japanese tonkatsu this is the place to get your fix.

Best Japanese curry in San Diego
Recommended dishes: Katsu-Don, Katsu Curry
Overrated and not worth the wait. Recommend making a reservation if you want to go here since the walk in waitlist takes at least an hour and NOT worth the wait. Service is mixed. One server is really good and nice but the other is uninterested in working hard and unfriendly. The Katsu Don is not authentic—the katsu should be cooked with the egg but it is cooked separately and simply placed on top of the egg and rice. Not recommended if you are looking for the real thing.

Food was delicious and service was great. The best value is the combo. One of the best Katsu place in the USA so far. Come right at opening to walk-in for seating.

Very cute little unassuming Japanese restaurant. Plenty of appetizer options. Really fresh Sashimi. Fresh Shochu cocktails. Absolutely loved it and I will be back.

This place is great. Sure you might have to wait 45 minutes if you're a walk in but the food is good. Service is good. Katsu, seared wagyu nigiri, broccoli with cheezymayo, agedashi tofu and sake flight, all good.

I recently dined at EE NAMI Tonkatsu Izakaya, and it was a fantastic experience if you enjoy authentic Japanese comfort food. This place specializes in tonkatsu, the classic Japanese breaded pork cutlet, along with a variety of izakaya-style small plates.
The tonkatsu was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside, served with fresh cabbage, rice, and rich sauce. Everything tasted carefully prepared and very authentic. The restaurant itself has a cozy, relaxed atmosphere that makes it a great spot for both casual dinners and small gatherings.
The service was friendly and attentive, and the whole experience felt welcoming. If you're in San Diego and craving real Japanese flavors—especially great katsu—EE NAMI Tonkatsu Izakaya is definitely worth visiting.

美味しすぎる!!I went here for a birthday and was delighted by the service as well as what they offer on the menu. My boyfriend and I were greeted when we walked in and were frequently checked up on to see how we liked the food! Overall a wonderful night! 😊✨
