You are outside in the street ordering your food and they make it fresh to order. The churros are hot crispy and pillowy on the inside.

They have so much of what I love. Great elote. Amazing churros. It's great with the condensed milk. I'm not into the platanos.

Amazingly fresh and HOT churros. It was $6 for a bag of 8 and the two of us demolished it. They also sell tamales and champurrado which we’ll get on our next trip to SD. Lovely folks running the business and we can’t wait to visit again next year!

El Tigre owes me nothing! Crisp churros cranked by hand via a 20 year old traditional churro machine, sweet crispy plantains drizzled with lechera, kind service and generous hospitality. Wow, how it should be!

We rolled up right before close to get some churros and this place did not disappoint!

Amazing quantity for just $6 and light, crispy and airy. As good as some of the churros we have had in CDMX (El Morro)

They only accept cash so be prepared.

I was visiting San Diego and wanted some churros. This was the only place with 5 stars and reviewed for its authenticity! I was expecting a brick and mortar store but its almost like a hot dog stand. I called and they directed me to park in the alley. They were super friendly, I ordered the corn elote and double order of churros. He hand cranked the churros into the oil and it was very good. Nice quiet diverse neighborhood, would definitely return. I do think their menu changes daily.

TJ style churros and they don’t disappoint. The best this side of the border. Make sure to start out with the giant chicken tamale. This is outdoor eating BTW

Friendly fast and affordable. I was so full for $9, then ate some more because it was so delicious. Simple eats, too easy, I’ll be back.

Had a craving for churros and came to google to find some authentic ones.
Found this little gem in city heights.
Churros were fresh , soft and delicious. I saw a comment on here saying there wasn’t enough sugar and cinnamon on them … this isn’t a theme park churro. These are homemade deliciousness. You eat churros for the masa not the sugar mix. Service was great. Bonus we ordered the Platanos Fritos and they were also delicious.

First time discovering El Tigre after living in this hood the past 2+ years. Ordered the fried plantanos and both pork & chicken tamales and soooo good! Each hit the spot!! And the folks here are super friendly! Wish I had discovered them sooner!!!

My favorite spot to get churros, despite their unreliable hours! It's always a treat to come here. Their tamales are pretty good too.

The wife and I have been craving churros ever since coming to San Diego, you can catch a whiff of it pretty much wherever you go, which is a constant reminder of that craving. We were dumb enough to give in and buy some while walking through Balboa Park ($6 for one measley stick).

In contrast to that, we stopped by here one night, paid for 2 orders of churros. And I see the dude crank 16 churros into the fryer. I figured "no big deal he's just preparing for the next customers. Nope, $5 for 8 freaking churros, you just can't beat that. The tamales and hot dogs are awesome too.
