Just now getting to this. We used these people for our wedding when they were located at the Bernardo Winery. At the last minute they dropped an additional $2,000 on our bill. I can't recall the explanation, just remember it was bs. Be wary.

I was very happy w the food here and will keep Elements Cafe in mind as my first recommendation whenever I go out to lunch with someone. Though, this is a place to go for the *food*. The place itself is nothing fancy. You pay up front at the cashier and carry your food in styrofoam containers on a tray to your table or out to the courtyard, and pick up your own utensils. So I'm rating it just for the food because there isn't really any service to rate (though the cashier was perfectly pleasant and I don't have any complaints there either). Despite being in the middle of a business district, it's tucked away among the trees at the back of the school building, so when we ate in the courtyard we didn't feel like we were in a business district. And the prices were very reasonable for what we got. I don't know if you'd call me a picky eater. I'll eat just about anything at home or from street stalls abroad, but I'm generally so disappointed with restaurants -- even supposedly good ones -- that I'd usually rather not go out to eat at all. And the daily specials that day were all the kinds of things I'd expect to be disappointed with, things that sound good but usually aren't. I was surprised that I was completely wrong. The three of us got three different things (three of the four specials on offer that day), plus salad, and shared. There was gnocchi with sweet potatoes in the sauce. I'd just made gnocchi the night before and wasn't in the mood for it again, but theirs was to die for anyway. Certainly better than anything I've ever been able to come up with, no matter how attentive I am when cooking. There was a chicken pita sandwich. I don't care for white meat, or for pita sandwiches in general, but theirs was quite good anyway and I would've been content with just that for lunch. And my sister, who likes pita sandwiches, loved it for all the juicy diced up stuff in it. Then there was the beef soup, and my eyes popped open when I tasted it. My sister and I fought over it. And I loved the merlot salad dressing, plus all the salad ingredients were good. (I passed up on the artichoke hearts, assuming they were jarred/pickled, but it turns out they weren't, so I missed out on that.) So I was happy with four meals out of four, when I was only hoping that one would even be tolerable. Plus my sister and friend both loved everything too. With those kinds of results, I won't even bother checking the daily menu before coming in next time, because whatever they have that day, even if it's something that I wouldn't normally order, I'll probably like it.

This is a hidden little gem that strikes many chords of excellence. We tried this on a Groupon ordering the special carnitas with beans salad and chocolate cake. The carnitas was some the best I've ever had. Sopped in its own juices it had superb flavors and simply incredible. And what's so special about a salad? How about home made dressings! This plate on quantity taste and flavor was 5 stars good. My pastrami sandwich with side salad was a bit disappointing as the protein was a bit light, but unexpectedly overwhelmed by a horseradish mustard. I've never seen a deli pre apply condiment sauces before on a classic pastrami and I'm not critical about not having the classic rye bread. I'd give this about 2.5 stars but the side salad and dressings round this to 3. Definitely we'll be coming back and I'll be more amenable to trying the daily specials and NOT playing it "safe" with a simple sandwich!

Loved it! The tomato bisque and vegetable strata were amazing! It's the perfect corporate lunch spot with soup, a salad bar and fresh everything...not to mention a fizzy Diet Coke machine....essential!

There is a great variety which I really appreciate-- every day a new dish. The staff is very friendly and will get to know you personally. Food is usually good, sometimes too salty.

Good food at a good price. The selection is somewhat limited.
