“Wow, talk about some amazing food and service. This has to be one of the best Ethiopian restaurants I’ve been to in America. It’s a hole in the wall for sure, but that adds to the charm. The person waiting on us was so kind, so nice, so helpful. You could see him literally running to the back to place orders and run food.
The table next to us was a little complicated. He told them they weren’t setup for tea or coffee on a Monday night. The diners insisted and he finally said, you know what, I can make it for you, but it will not be presented as normal, but I can make it in the back, to which the diners agreed. He ran to the back and next thing you know, tea and coffee were brought to them….extraordinary. As a former restaurant worker, I’d have not asked them to go through the effort, but this was above and beyond.
When I was leaving, they had some bread on the counter and I asked what it was and he described it and then gave us some to sample….it was amazing!
Anyway, we had the #1 special (it’s spicy but not super hot..for reference, I eat 2-3 Thai chilis raw with just about every meal, so YMMV) and the vegetarian combo. It was all so so so very delicious. I will definitely be back!“

“Food was full of flavor. I tried the meat combo which came with an assortment of very well seasoned meat dishes/stews and a side of injera. My only complaint is that the food was a little too salty, and I feel like I have a high tolerance for salt.“

“This is a chill, unassuming hole in the wall spot - so you know the food is going to be GOOD. This restaurant did not disappoint. So delicious. Run by very kind people. Don’t sleep on this restaurant! There is a small downstairs part of the restaurant in the back behind the storefront, but there is also an upstairs area which I did not see. Highly recommend.“

“The best convenience store , that sells goods from Ethiopia here in San Diego, CA. This store offers a variety of essential ingredients , spices, and condiments that can enable you to prepare any delicious Ethiopian food. They also sell different cultural stuff and other products. The price here is very reasonable. The owners are awesome people, who always welcome their customers with open arms. Customer service is 10/10. I highly recommend this particular store for anyone who wants to experience what it feels like to walk into an Ethiopian store. Thank you so much for your contribution to the Ethiopian community, you guys rock.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year 2026.“

“I have never eaten Ethiopian food before and it was suggested to me by a parking attendant at the San Diego airport. I must say it was pretty good I got the combination plate which came with regular beef, spicy beef and spicy chicken with salad and bread (I forgot the name of what it’s actually called). This hospitality was amazing and welcoming. I certainly enjoyed the food and it was really different for me. The spicy beef didn’t have enough beef which is why it got a 4 star rating because it was just 1-2 pcs and the rest was gravy. The regular beef had plenty so that was awesome and it was only 1 pc of chicken and didn’t seem to have much flavor. The salad was perfect and I noticed because of all the gravy the bread got soggy quickly. I would certainly suggest giving it a try. Check out my Instagram for more food reviews in different areas.
