This is me and my friend's favorite bar!! The vibes here are immaculate and it is always a good time. It has a very rich history as a music video bar which is fun to read up on as well. The staff is super friendly and personable, and the drinks are always poured generously. I love love love this place!

I love flicks! It is a fantastic vibe and good music!! The service is excellent. I would like not to pay to go inside when there are special events in the area.

I was roofied at this bar and got my phone stolen. After consulting with the staff and getting in contact with the owner, I never was able to retrieve my phone and the owner never returned any of my calls or messages (I simply wanted to explain my story and let him know what was happening at his establishment). I was discussing what happened to me with a friend and she said that 10 years ago, her sister was also roofied at Flicks, and was kidnapped and left on the side of the road the night she came to Flicks by strangers she met in the bar. I also talked to the security guard the next day and he mentioned that phones getting stolen in their establishment was happening multiple times a night, every night, and that it was extremely common. He assured me that I would likely not ever get my phone back. Although my phone was left in the bar, not one staff member had seen it and claimed they never found anything. But after discussing with others…it seems that something very shady is happening at this bar. I would not step foot in this bar unless you are looking for trouble. Women getting drugged and phones getting stolen seems to be just a normal everyday occurrence for them. I will not be ever coming back to this establishment as it is not a place where I feel safe.

My experience here was ok, drinks made their rounds fast and music was decent. Bartenders were nice and when my friends got another round of shots, I managed to make friends with a group of guys who let me hide in their area because I knew I had to take a break from drinking. Further on into the night it got way too crowded and the vibe didn't feel safe. My group left for another spot nearby afterwards.

A worker told many times no more than two people in the bathroom then forced himself into the restroom without any respect. Two guests trying to use their restroom and forcefully put his foot on the door to remove people inside. I didnt feel safe at all with the aggression of the worker. Had a backpack when leaving at 12.50

We come to Hillcrest to avoid gross men and have a good time. The manager Kyle Matthew's came up to my friend, dressed completely appropriately for a club, and asked her if she was wearing underwear while we were dancing. She was very uncomfortable and the question was not appropriate at all. I went up to speak to him and he responded with misogynistic comments and told us "this is a gay bar" as if we weren't there for exactly that reason - what does that even mean? I asked about the dress code and he said "we don't want women like that in here". He defended his actions rudely and refused to have a conversation, eventually kicking me out completely. We are incredibly upset to have been treated that way as women, and my friend did absolutely nothing to deserve being treated that grossly. Kyle Matthew's is an awful managers and acts offensively towards women.
