I've been going to Amalfi for the past year or two; typically once every two weeks. It is fantastic! Not only are the food and drinks EXCELLENT, but the prices are VERY reasonable....lower than all of the other Italian restaurants near Rancho Santa Fe that I used to frequent.
The musses were really tasteless so we had to return them, the pastas were good. I think they were short staffed because the service was slow and unattended.
It was a poor experience. Servicer - We were seated and then had to wait quite a long time before anyone came by to ask for our order. After we finished our meal, again, we sat there for a long time with empty plates before anyone asked about whether we wanted desert or the check. Food - Octopus appetizer was the worst I ever had. It was overcooked so it was tough. The sauce was not pleasant as well.
Good waiter , food was average . Restaurant decor is good , noise level is high . Second time here , octopus was good , pizza too soggy in the center , nothing to rave about . I did not find anything outstanding really !
We love dining at Amalfi Cucina in Carmel Valley and San Marcos. Whether it's happy hour, a casual dinner, or a special occasion, the experience is consistently top-notch. We have also attended their wine pairing dinners and they are always a memorable treat. The food is authentic, flavorful, and delicious, which is reminiscent of our time in Italy. The service is excellent, with many staff members hailing from Italy, adding to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Emiliano, one of the owners, often walks around to personally greet guests and ensure everyone is having a great time, which we really appreciate. Amalfi Cucina has become a favorite for us, and we'll definitely keep coming back again and again. Highly recommend!
All dishes we tried were good, appetizers, salad, main courses and desserts. Cocktails also good. Amalfi salad, chicken parm, lasagna, meatballs, pistachio cake. Service very professional and polite. First visit here, planning to return.
My friend's salmon was excellent. My chicken parm was fairly tasteless. In addition, I ordered a glass of wine and it was delivered after I finished my dinner so I sent it back.
Wonderful experience! Beautiful ambience! The service was outstanding, and the food was amazing.
Wonderful evening with amazing courses from Campagna, Puglia and Sicily paired perfectly with some delicious wines.
We attended the Southern Italy wine pairing dinner. It was a blast! Great food, wine and service. And we made some new friends! We will definitely be back!

Have not disappointed on the food. The ribeye steak is excellent. All the pasta dishes are handmade and they are superb. The gnocchi pasta and fish melted really good and those shrimp still tender with steamed shrimp are just right.
Food is always great. Best pizza in town. Wonderful salads, cocktails and chicken parm! Thank you for the wonderful service too.
This is the second time we have gone to Amalfi and the second time we enjoyed listening to Roman Placios.
The gluten free pizza crust is very similar to regular pizza crust, with a nice chewy texture. Much better than the cauliflower and other gluten free pizza crusts offered at other restaurants that are like a thin cracker. The small green salad was very fresh and large enough to share between two people who just wanted a little salad. Prices seemed quite reasonable considering what things cost lately.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the outstanding service. It was our first time there, and we most certainly be back.
