Fonda Del Barrio Reviews
Hands-down, the best meal I have had in a long time! The food is so authentic and delicious. The service is impeccable. The cocktails are delightful. I cannot wait to come back!!
Wow… what an experience! The moment you walk up to this hacienda-style house, you’re already transported—those massive wooden doors alone are worth stopping to admire. Inside, the old furniture and rustic charm make you feel like you’ve been welcomed into someone’s home.
The food? Absolutely incredible. You wont find tacos here, you will find true ancestral Mexican recipes, full of depth and history. We tried the showstopper chicken mole and the chile en Nogada....read full review

Fonda Del Barrio is an incredible, must-visit spot in Barrio Logan, offering some of the best and most creative Mexican food. The experience is consistently great, with a cozy, nicely decorated ambience and excellent, knowledgeable service that makes guests feel very welcome. The menu features unique and delicious dishes that feel traditional, unique, and modern all at once. Standout items include the hot tortilla soup, the spicy frijoles con veneno, the tasty rock fish and salmon stripe, the on-point mango habanero aguachile, and the superstar Filet de Res Porfirio, a juicy filet mignon with chile poblano sauce. For brunch, the chilaquiles de crema and mole chilaquiles are flavorful and tasty. Excellent craft drinks and yummy cocktails like the watermelon margarita, strawberry margarita, and Oaxaca old fashioned are very reasonably priced. Live music adds a soulful touch. With amazing prices for high-end, upscale cuisine, this gem is an instant favorite and completely worth a visit.
