We have a party of seven adults going to dine in, and the server tried to squeeze us in a small table with one grill. I asked to have a bigger table so we can sit comfortably. They walk us to a longer table, and sure enough we can only allow to use one grill because the manager who in charge on Sunday around 1pm 3/24/2024 said so. If the place were busy, then we can understand. However, the place was empty and they treated us unwelcome. BTW they charge for service when you have a group but you can only use one grill. So we decided to walk out because we felt uncomfortable the way they treated us. Not to sure about the food, but the service already tell us not to dine in.

Jeeze, have to agree this place went downhill. We used to come here monthly and was always impressed, today was terrible. Service was so slow, table and forks were dirty, they accidentally turned our grill off and we had to get up to find someone to turn it on cuz the waitress was missing. At 2pm they changed the music to strictly Drake and turned it up so loud we could barely chat.Oh and the Food came out slow, they forgot items, ran out of certain appetizers, KFC is now frozen chicken nuggets…So sad, hope they go back to what they were doing before this menu change

Have been to this countless times and out of all those times the only time I got great service was on 3/16/24 and it appears that it was only because a manager/supervisor was on top of all employees.Went back on 3/20/24 to celebrate my daughter’s bday. We were a party of 6 and after waiting almost an hour, only 2 small plates of meat came out. I made a complaint to a supervisor about the issue but was told they were short staff. Another family complained about the same issue while we were still there.

Used to be the go to spot, but the food quality is terrible now AND they got rid of some really good items but added Mexican cuisine? (For an extra 20) Which was confusing. Service used to be great, but now you’ll be left standing up front with many people behind the counter not even acknowledging you. And when they do, they treat you like you’re a burden. Servers have large areas they can’t handle, and managers walk around just trying to look cool LMAO not the place for that short kings let’s give good service

Quality has definitely worsened. And the biggest is definitely speed, I somehow had to order to 3 different people before an acknowledgement that some of the items might come out(almost half items were unavailable), waited for around 30 minutes before giving up and heading out. It wasn’t even that busy because the people we were literally sharing the table with were able to order and receive their food twice while we were waiting, they had enough time to get a new grill and require a fresh one while we waited for food.

Worst customer service that I have experienced at a Korean bbq place. I understand it’s busy especially on a Friday but there is no excuse for terrible customer service. Waiting a whole hour to be seated then waited another hour to get food, but the food they sent out wasn’t even what we asked for(didn’t even get our sides either until a whole other 15min). There’s so much more to winge about but they took enough of my time already so I’ll just end it with I wouldn’t recommend this place, management is terrible and they should clean house.

This is the third time we have given this place a chance we came specifically on a Monday night because we thought it wouldn't be busy. We got seated immediately because it wasn't busy and waited for our server which we never met, some other server came up to us and apologized because our server was busy and took our order; in the meantime two groups got seated around us and got their orders taken immediately. The kicker was that their food got served to them while we where still waiting, the server who took our food order realized this and came over and said he would check on it. I told him that we would pay for the banchan(sides) they give you and leave, he went to go talk to his manager and came back and said it was fine that we didn't have to pay and that he was sorry. Its not his fault its gens poor managements fault! Do better!

I try to be as patient as possible because I know how hard it can be but this place was so beyond ridiculous. After being seated underneath the air vents, we asked if we could be moved. I understand that this isn't always possible and we understood when they told us no. But everything went completely downhill. Please note that we didn't even have a large party, we were literally a party of 2. We were seated at a grill that would not light and we had to flag down several servers at least 5 times before they tried to move us. We weren't able to eat anything until 45 minutes had passed. We also watched our server check in with every table in our section except for us. It had been an hour and a half and we had only gotten through one and part of our next order. We went to the front and told them we didn't eat much and they said the server would be by to check on us. We didn't even get to finish our second round when the manager brought us our bill. We told him that we didn't even get to eat much and only offered us a 15% discount. Please note that it had been two hours at this point of our time absolutely wasted. The manager on duty did not help whatsoever. We saw tables with more people in their group that sat 20 minutes after us leave before we even finished the second round. I absolutely do not recommend this place and please avoid at all costs. An absolute waste of our time and having to basically leave with eating little to nothing. I understand being short staffed but I've never had such a horrible experience at Gen after being a customer for years.

Used to love this place, now I'll never go again. Their Korean Fried Chicken is not real KFC anymore. It's just Foster Farms frozen nuggets from the frozen food section with some sauce on top, now. The marinades and seasonings have gone downhill, the meat is smaller, and they bring out less per order.Will never go again. Used to be my favorite KBBQ spot in San Diego. Kearny Mesa is only 10 minutes away and has better options, now.

Good KBBQ in Mira Mesa. I personally prefer this place over Manna. Good side, Korean BBQ, etc. solid spot. Place gets busy. Recommend having someone go early and putting a spot in line

Food is always good, but service is usually pretty bad. They don't bring everything we order and so we usually have to ask multiple times. In addition, it will be a good half hour before we see our server again. We ordered Cajun shrimp, which we had to ask for twice and then when it finally came, it was just shrimp, not cajun.

The only thing that saved this place is the food. Food was great and wait staff did the best they could. Management however was horrendous and very unequipped to handle the demand that was coming in. They do not accept reservations which I can get and put on a waitlist. Put our name in online and could only put 6, but have 7 people. We called and they insisted that was okay and they could accommodate. Get a text that tale is being prepared and to check in to be sat but still waited 35min as no table was ready for us. Then what I am going assume was the manager came several time over asking how many were in the party again and again not sure of what he even knew what was going on. We then we see a party of similar size leaving and we look to see if we would be taking that area. The said no, that was for another party and we get placed in a 6 seat area for 7 people. Management was again not very attentive and wanting to fix the root cause and remove barriers.Staff did forget a good amount of the food we ordered but was doing their best after being stretched out and overwhelmed while management stood around.Would give a chance but with a smaller party.

The service was terrible and they never brought us half the food we asked and they chose their oriental clientele over other nationalities. Terrible place. Food was subpar and overall they have zero customer service.
