Genteel Coffee Roasters

Visiting from out of town and decided to stop here to grab cappuccinos before taking the kids to the zoo. I typically shy away from orange syrups but their housemade Foxtrot syrup was one of the most unique (and delicious) syrups I've ever tasted and it actually worked so well in the cappuccino. We are so spoiled by our local third wave coffee shop back home that it's rare that we're so blown away by coffee while traveling. It's also worth mentioning that both baristas working were super friendly and actually smiled at me while I was there! Genteel definitely won me over and I'll be returning next time I'm in town.

A - Drink was mid and did not live up to the hype
B staff didn’t seem to have any emotions
C this business is very hard to find imho if driving to it, I thought I missed it then I parked, got out and found it. Apparently the sign is painted on the building on the top left

Very very good coffee. No sugar/cream and it was delicious

Recently moved to San Diego from SF and this has quickly become one of our favorite coffee shops in the city. Love the vibe of the shop, the garden seating tucked along the side, and of course the drinks and beans. No nonsense coffee shop with great espresso. Highly recommend!

Genteel is a staple coffee shop as a North Park local. The baristas are top notch. A solid chai latte (I get mine half sweet) and cappuccino. My partner loves the blue rooibos (“blue matcha”) latte. I wish they served breakfast options (chai pudding etc.) other than pastries and had more space inside. Then I wouldn’t be able to go anywhere else.

Delightful coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Menu is a mix of classic and creative items. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Great, peaceful shop with good vibes. Parking is street parking and not particularly great.

I had a matcha alternative -- the blue matcha, as well as a scone.

I’ve been sampling coffee shops within walking distance in North Park. Genteel Coffee Roasters is my new favorite. They know what they’re doing, the specialty coffee is great, and the premises are inviting.
