Came here on a weekday for lunch and sat at the sushi bar. Hane Sushi closes at 2pm, but reopens later for dinner. It wasn't too busy when I walked in around 12:30pm, but they had a solid amount of tables about an hour later. Service did not appear to falter just because it was close to closing... it actually got even more attentive, but not in a pushy "we're about to close" way. Staff here is super nice and I can tell that the chefs are happy to chat with customers to find out what they like. I got the crunchy salmon roll ($24--the menu posted on their website says $19, but that's very outdated) and the special ceviche roll ($27). Based on past reviews and pics on Google, the ceviche roll has been available for several years now (and should probably be on the regular menu), but maybe they switch up the fish here and there? Mine had spicy tuna/avocado inside and was topped with seared yellowtail, cilantro and jalapeño.The fish was verrrrry fresh and of great quality. The location and ambiance is also nice, but nothing special. I will say though, that the entire place was super clean, even the bathrooms.I think that Hane's prices are a little higher than they should be, but I feel like that's most places in SD. The fact it cost me about $50 for two special rolls during lunch is the reason why I won't be back again anytime soon. I There are other places in the area that offer quality sushi with lunch specials, or just more reasonable pricing generally. I'd still recommend Hane Sushi to others based on the quality and good experience, but this place is better suited as a date night rather than a stop for lunch.

Every piece of sushi is excellent. Draft beer is severed through chilled lines. Service is top notch.Parking: Metered street parking. Normally can find a spot within a couple of blocks but there will be exceptions/ busier days.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible

Way too noisy and loud. Could be solved by installing maybe three sound absorbing panels. The owner expressed indifference to doing so.It's pretty uncomfortable to have a conversation here. Not a good date spot for that reason.

Make reservations if you're coming. We were fortunate, and there was an open space at the bar ?. Menus were a bit difficult to read and poorly written. I recommend that they revamp their menus for more inviting experience. Wall.menu was a bit confusing, and I expected a different meal. However, I ate what I was served. The actual rolls were tasty and well decoratedDrinks, the bartender, and the bar itself were great. Chefs were entertaining, but not a great a show to write home about. Ambiance was a bit bland, boring, stuffy, surgical. I recommend to try a more lively location. Parking was difficult, but again fortunate to find a place quickly. Hostess was inviting and the exterior was mundane. Over, a 3.0 to 3.4 would be my score. The bar area, as i mentioned, was the best part of the location.

Wow, we had an amazing meal here! Very fresh fish, fast and friendly service and a super cool ambiance make for a great experience. We did only nigiri this time, but it was all delicious. Cocktail was a little weak and mostly ice, for the same price, the wine was definitely the better value. Rolls seemed a little pricy but nigiri and sashimi were reasonable. Would definitely come back!

This place charges like $25/roll for what is average to below average sushi. The tuna was a weird brown color, not high quality fish. This is like paying Peter Luger prices for a McDonald’s hamburger.

Our go-to sushi spot! The friendliest staff and most consistently great sushi in SD.

This is an amazing sushi restaurant! Nothing absolutely fancy but the quality of the fish, service, and vibes were 10/10. We had salmon nigiri, miso soup, green salad, some rolls and their hot sake. Everything a hit! Especially their soft shelled crab hand roll. We were down the street first hoping to get a seat at a fancier place but they were absolutely full and could not take any walk ins. This place took us right away no issues!
