They put mole sauce on my meal when I asked for it in the side. They wanted to make a new one but they said the chicken takes 25 mins and I didn't want to wait. The suave was too much and not my taste of food. The chicken was very dry and only could eat a few bites.
Went for dinner with my boyfriend as we are staying at the hotel. He ordered the salmon and I ordered the sea bass. The salmon was delicious and cooked to perfection, but the sea bass was very lacking, especially for $42. It needed more flavor. The chocolate mousse for desert was decent, but not worth $15. Service was decent, and the restaurent was very quiet. We went at 5:30 and were happy to be seated with a wonderful view of the harbor. Overall, the experience was very overpriced and food was just okay.
Such a beautiful restaurant, and the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes are insanely good! Our server was super nice and very attentive.
Great brunch and service. Would like to recognize Lorraine for her outstanding commitment to customer service.
I had lunch at Rumorosa on 05/11/2025 for Mother's Day. First thing is first. Our waiter seemed to be having a bad day. He seemed grumpy and it showed. The second thing was our seating; well, it was not that comfortable. The large bench seat was too soft, and one would sink in, so the table (height) was a bit uncomfortable. The service was slow, hard to get any refills, and we just did not get a happy feeling from our waiter. The food on the other hand was very good, the only thing we all complained about was that the roast beef and lamb was cold. I think they need to have a better way to keep the meat warm. There was a food server, that did the shrimp and grits and salmon, first, those dishes were amazing, and second, she was fantastic, unbelievably nice, attentive, and super friendly – I only wished our waiter was the same way. Other than that, would I recommend Rumorosa for Mother's Day? Yes, I would. Just so you know they did have some great kid friendly dishes.
Had reservations for Easter brunch at 2pm and arrived at 1:30 asking if we could possibly be seated early. The restaurant was empty and took the hostess 10 mins to get a table together and then tried saying the brunch buffet closes at 2pm. She clearly was trying not to seat anyone else so they could clean up early. Luckily my wife asked the manager and he stated that once seated the buffet will stay open as long as we need. She doesn't need to be in that position and attempted to ruin our reservation.
Love every detail of the space, the warmth of the server and the authenticity of the food. I could live in this restaurant!
The service was horrible. They cannot service the tables they seat. We sat an hour before we received our appetizer and that was only after we complained. When we finally received our food it was under cooked and cold could not even eat it.
Service was terrible. The bottle of wine we ordered when ordering dinner finally came with our dessert. We had to ask our server three or four times about it. The food was good, but the service was really bad.
We went for restaurant week and were really disappointed they were out of the rice pudding for dessert. That was one of the deciding factors on choosing the restaurant. I'm not sure if they were short staffed, but there were a couple large parties there at the same time as us and service was very slow. It took about 30 minutes for us to get a glass of water And an hour before we got our appetizer. My friend asked for a cocktail menu and the waiter forgot so we had to ask a second time and she didn't get her drink until an hour to an hour and a half into the meal. I asked for a water refill and the waiter forgot, so I didn't get that until another employee walking by saw and refilled for me. The appetizers and entrées were delicious, minus the fish was slightly overcooked. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very high quality. The scalloped potatoes were absolutely delicious. Both ceviches were very good. The cream cheese flan was like a mix between flan and cheesecake. It was a little too dense for me and it needed a lot more caramel sauce on top to balance out the density. One of my favorite things about flan is the caramel sauce and there really wasn't any except for what was baked into the top. If I had at least really liked the dessert that would have made up for the fact that they didn't have the rice pudding, but they didn't even do the one dessert they had correctly. Overall pretty disappointed in the overall experience and I wish we had chosen one of the many other options for restaurant week.

Booked this restaurant because of it being San Diego Restaurant Week, and we had never been to this particular restaurant before by the Harbor area, customers are correct beautiful surroundings and views inside and out of restaurants, good customer service from valet to the Restaurant staff, food was a good value since it was a preset menu for $45, went on a Saturday night , had live music in the bar area but it did get extremely loud with the music and the atmosphere of all the people taking in the restaurant ... but that's to be expected.
The food was not worth 25$ by far. I have had more generously served and better tasting food at small mexican places for a much smaller price. The service was super slow, not attentive and there were only three tables to be attended to. We don't recommend the restaurant Rumorosa at all. Very very disappointing
It is a very nice restaurant with great views and ambiance. I ordered the taco trio. The tacos only had 1 tortilla so it started breaking apart due to the juicy fillings. Overall it was very nice, I just had to use my fork to eat the tacos.
Went for restaurant week lunch $25. Good value ordered salad which was great and street tacos (3) fish, mushroom and pork one of each. Tacos just okay nothing great. Seating is terrible chairs and bench seating soft and short compared to tables. Tables too high come to chest level and I'm tall. Uncomfortable seating and I even requested to change table, which was only slightly better. Service is good very accommodating. Ordered a bottle of wine good selection and a lot of Mexican wines from the Valle de Guadalupe.
My reservation was cancelled because the restaurant closed at 2 pm on the day I had booked. This should have been communicated to Open Table.
