I'm lucky to be within walking distance of HBC. The menu is simple comfort food, but with imaginative twists. Great pizzas, great wings, and great beer. We enjoy trying the monthly specialty pizzas. I especially enjoy the Banana Hammock beer.
This place is a great addition to Hillcrest. Lots of evenings have started and concluded here. The food is consistently good, and the full bar doesn't doom me to having a beer. The service has always been good, but lately I've noticed a push by some of the wait-staff to move a group of people to a larger table. Sometimes you just want to stand by some friends for a couple minutes before moving along to the bar, but immediately a worker tries to get the party to move...
Love the staff, the area, and the crowd that comes here. It's always fun and chill vibes. 100% of the time drinks hit hard and hit great, wide variety of beers and their bartenders can craft you a nice cocktail. 90% of the time food is quick, good, and easy enough. I've had some rough spots during busy times where the chicken Parm is tiny for the price I paid, or the pizza was a lil undercooked. But I've only noticed it on rare occasions. I mainly go for the drinks...
