LOVED this place! Traveled to San Diego to attend the Marine Corps Ball with my nephew. Went to Hodad's for lunch. The community seating, the decor, the vibe - all are so much fun! The burger and shake were some of the best I've ever had! Totally understand why there was a line out the door!

Great place to stop for a burger and a cold beer after a day at da beach, they have a great menu of pub food ? you gotta try this place. Now remember if you visit on a weekend it's gunna be busy and you may havevto wait for a spot but it's worth the wait. Maybe take a trip to Hodads in the middle of the week.

This place is iconic and for good reason. The food was delicious. The milkshakes were made with real ice cream and could have been a meal itself, we took them to go. The service was outstanding and we got to sit in the best seat of the house, the bus. Everything was perfect!!

The price and hype is worth it. The single hamburger was filling and super flavorful.

The decor is incredible, it has personality. The burger is good, but the price for the experience (a place covered in license plates and stickers) is crazy! $17 for a burger without fries, $9 for a beer. Either you charge a fortune and offer a great experience, or you offer an average experience for an average price. I repeat, the burger is good, but not worth $17. The price must be for the hype

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic Hodads restaurant, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant, with friendly staff ready to assist.

The menu offered a great variety of burgers, each crafted with high-quality ingredients. I opted for the bacon cheeseburger, and it was absolutely delicious.
The patty was juicy and cooked to perfection, the cheese melted just right, and the fresh toppings added a wonderful crunch.

The onion rings were a delightful treat. To top it all off, their milkshakes were thick, creamy, and bursting with flavor - the perfect way to end the meal.

Overall, this burger restaurant provided an outstanding dining experience. The combination of great food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere makes it a must-visit spot for burger lovers. Highly recommended!

Parking is very tricky so be patient!

It was the world's hip hamburger restaurant.
The greasy patty was very American^^
I don't think there's any need to go there.
There is a flea market and shops nearby.
Experience it when you go ^^

Hodads is and will forever be a San Diego classic. I’ve been here a million times and it never disappoints. Food is always fresh and delicious. Beers are cold and always filled to the rim. Shakes are soooooo dang good. Wanted to leave a review this particular time though and shout out ERIC for being so awesome. He truly brings the OB vibes to hodads. He was super friendly, helpful, Had great attention to detail, went out of his way to get our parties orders down (even with two kids that wanted to put in their own orders lol) and continued to check in on our table throughout our dinner. He’s dope and did his job incredibly well.

Classic surf town burger joint. Had a large Frings and it was more than enough for six people. Best onion rings ever. Single cheese burger is loaded with veggies.

Over priced undercooked frozen burger pucks off the Sysco truck. 3% added to the check to cover the free sticker and paper napkin they give ya. $25 for a nasty double and lousey potato wedges. Hodads is surviving off their t.v. exposure, and have lowered their quality. Can eat 3 superior meals @ In n Out for the same money. Cya Hodads.

This establishment is part of SD history.

Be prepared to wait a while, but once you're seated the staff does a great job. They are very attentive and work well as a team. We asked for some jalapeños and extra ranch which they brough out right away.

Now for the food; the burgers are great! Fresh, loaded with toppings/sauce and very tasty! I ordered the Guido and my wife got the Blue Jay burger. Delicious!

Where they fell short for me was the fries & onion rings... not great. The onion rings stated stale and had no seasoning. The fries reminded me of the ones at an buffet place. They were edible, but not good. But hey, we didn't come here for great fries & rings, we came for a good burger and they delivered!! As mentioned above, the staff was great too!

Definitely stop in and try this spot when ever you're in San Diego and OB!!

First time here! I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was delicious! Loved their potato wedges and onion rings! Only thing that disappointed me was their ranch. I feel like if you have damn good onion rings like Hodad’s does the ranch has to be perfect. Other than that the food came out fast and hot! I would come back!
