I specifically asked when ordering “is the crab imitation or actual crab” and the cashier said it was imitation. Then said “ The only roll that isn’t imitation crab is the soft shell crab roll, you get an entire soft shell crab in it” this is not true, you get half a soft shell crab and the LOAD it with imitation crab. Such a let down, especially for the price they charge

No idea what happened to this place!!! A new owner or under new management. Have been going there for the last 30 years! The food is as usual,but the portion is way less! Ordered chicken with fried snapper combo,l got half lemon wedge!!!l asked for an additional lemon wedge l was told it’s 50 cents xtra!!! I know everything out there is getting expensive but not for lemon or Rice!!!? I told the waitress ,l think she took over the previous owner.thank you but you won’t get a Dime from me anymore! Thanks for your business but bye bye ,tons of Japanese Restaurants out there.
Amazing sushi spot, they focus on the food. Great Christmas spirit here and it’s very nostalgic for me. My favorite sushi spot in mission beach/PB. Also very affordable it’s a miracle

Ichiban is a great local spot in PB; the atmosphere is the place is cool, with all the Japanese posters on the wall and a great staff that's always helpful. The food is great, I like their chicken katsu, their sushi rolls, and their fried gyoza. The selection of imported Japanese drinks is great. Prices are quite reasonable as well. One of my favorite local places to go.

I didn’t know it would be so good or I would have gotten before pics. 🤣 T Everything was delicious, the garlic edamame was outstanding! (I want to eat so many things in that garlic sauce) Ariana was fantastic and we will definitely be back!!
Came here for the first time today. Tried their Sukiyaki and it was fantastic. A lot of places seem not to have Orion so I was really happy to see they had it. I was also happy to see the bill was really affordable. Definitely going to come back in the future.

We have been coming to this place for many years. But we just got some sashimi and an eel roll to go and we noticed that the quality of their food is no longer the same. My wife thinks the same way.

As a Japanese I can confirm the quality of this restaurant. Honestly the best American sushi I ever had. I was impressed by the variety of items on menu, freshness of sushi, and the price! For its price, THE BEST sushi restaurant in PB.
