We're from out of town. We tried a few recommended breakfast spots but IHOP was way better! Breakfast sampler was just what I needed. Simple, familiar and cooked perfectly. Thank you IHOP staff.

Even though I was not in a rush this morning. Worst experience ever at an I -Hop. They were obviously under staffed and did not have a manager on duty(well a visible one that is), unless he was in the kitchen cooking. Long waits to be seated, even though they are practically empty( most likely due to being obviously under staffed). Long waits to order. Of course I had to send my bacon back, not crispy enough. Dirty tables everywhere, flies flying around. I will still tip my waitress decently, as this is most likely not her fault. Do better I-Hop.

Upon arrival we saw one waitress serving the entire restaurant. There was one man assisting with bills to go orders and cleaning tables. Service was great, food tasted delicious however they need more people working. Some people walked away when they looked in.

When we got there. (Party of 2) We had to wait 5 minutes just for someone to come up to us. Then tells us. 5-10 min wait. “ “sorry we only have one server”. I said okay. I wasn’t in a rush so I waited. As I waited 3 groups of people came and all left because of the “5-10” wait probably because of the 1 serve equals bad service. Instead of ihop hiring more servers they lose $$ and customers. Took more like 20 min. The server women was okay but she was standing around a lot and talking with other co workers. She didn’t come and check on us not even once and didn’t give me a refill for my $5 drink. The portions were really small (kids happy face used to be the entire plate) and my crepes were plain. No cream like I wanted At that point. I was too hungry to complain and they were too busy and I just wanted out of there. Btw the man busser has extremely bad hygiene and smelled of BO really bad. Made me gag a few times. Will never return here

We arrived 2:30pm and the lazy waiter was at the entrance blocking us to enter and told us they close at 3pm and couldn’t not take or order.
I never saw an IHOP that closes 3pm in the afternoon in one of the busiest area by Pacific Beach. Ridiculous

In a competitive market like San Diego, good service makes all the difference. Investing in proper training for waiters would certainly increase the feeling of well-being. The food was good, but I noticed a certain harshness and lack of attention from the employees.

Honestly not sure if I've been to IHOP until this time.
Two of us ordered:
appetizer sampler $14.49
-crispy chicken
-onion rings
-mozz sticks
ran out of chicken tenders...automatically subbed it for fried chicken...only after did they say that and asked if it was ok or if we wanted to sub. We opted to take as is, but would have been better to check with us before going ahead and doing the alternative option.
breakfast biscuit sandwich with fries $8.99
-heavy biscuit
pancake combo $16.29
-cinnastack
-eggs, hash browns, sausages
Came by in the afternoon. Friendly staff. Decent value for food.
Parking is difficult in the area, but this location gives you 2 hours parking in the lot if you dine there.
Got there at 6:40 AM doors were still close. I had to call them to open app the door to get a order to go. She opens up the door and walks away. He's standing there for 5 minutes for her to come back and never shows up. Poor Excuse of an employee. Today is december 20th on a friday 2024. You guys can figure out who was working the front and have a talk with her. It's BS
Very good service, especially for children. Need to bus the tables, though.

Ended up having lunch here yesterday as I needed to be able to get some emergency work done on my laptop while eating lunch. The food was great (omelet and pancakes). The manager was great and he was nice enough to let me recharge my laptop due to an almost dead battery - that helped get my work done with the recharged laptop and save the day with my client!

Bad service, dirty dishes on all the tables, while we were seated all the tables around were dirty.
At the time of paying we made the complaint and they did not give us a reasonable explanation. We paid in cash and he returned the change from his pants pocket.
We left surprised at the bad experience.
