Great restaurant, service was fast and high quality. Restaurant was not too busy on a Sunday night at 8PM. We had an incredible view of the bay and city at night. Very romantic. Food was delicious and came in copious amounts. Enjoyed the Ahi & crab appetizer and triple meats dish. Server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

My husband loves to celebrate his birthday at Island Prime. The food is delicious and the views of the harbor and downtown are spectacular! It's a special occasion type of restaurant for us as it's high end. We shared our evening with friends from England. We were not rushed so we enjoyed our food and company. We ordered the dinner for 2 which was a tomahawk steak with Caesar salad, mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was more than we could eat and delicious.

I’ve eaten at countless restaurants over my 31 years, but nothing and I mean nothing compares to the calamari here. It was hands-down the best calamari I’ve ever had in my life: perfectly crisp, tender, and seasoned to absolute perfection. If I could give it 100stars, I would!
The coconut shrimp was also out of this world lightly breaded, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. And the fish and chips (with hush puppies!) were equally fantastic. Every dish was clearly made with care, love, and skill.
If you’re looking for a place that knows how to do seafood right, this is it. I’ll be dreaming about that calamari until my next visit!

The steaks was so burnt, the front and back were charred, so I called the waiter over and told him we could order the new steaks, he said it wouldn't make much of a difference. So We had no choice to eat it. It was bad tasty for the price. I made better than these steaks

The food was delicious. We celebrated our Anniversary and we got one of the best seat! They gave us complimentary cake. We ordered their special Tomahawk dinner special and so good! Everything was good! Our server, Desirea was awesome! She was so attentive and the food didn't take so long to come! So it was a very good experience! Thank you!

Service was very slow. It took 40 minutes for our food to be served. The price too expensive. Charging for a chimichuriri sauce is ridiculous especially when you are already paying $75.00 for a steak. $18.00 for a side of 10 sticks os asparagus is outrageous. To make matters worse, they were cold. Paid an extra $25.00 for service fee? Only thing left is for there be a charge to use the restrooms!

All I can say is the view at Island Prime is fantastic and well worth dining there just to look out at the beautiful San Diego bay views. We were seated by the windows and experienced the sunset from our table. My son and I had dinner here before going to Liberty Station for a movie. Waiter was great, very helpful and we ordered the right amount of food after he gave his suggestions. Martini was on point and seafood was good, my son had the filet with macaroni and cheese. The sides are very large and glad we only ordered the one. My son loves cream brûlée and it was fantastic. Overall, great experience and hostess that lead us to our table was very friendly and warm.

Let me start off by saying that SETH and company were absolutely amazing tonight! Seth was very attentive and explained the menu VERY well and very knowledgeable of everything in house! He made us feel welcomed and right at home! Every recommendation he made, it delivered! The cooks are amazing. My only complaint would have to be THINNER asparagus needed!! The food came out in a very timely manner! We will most definitely be visiting this location again
When you want a nice restaurant with a nice view of San Diego bay and top notch service do yourself a favor and visit Island Prime. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to congratulate us more than once. The food was incredible, my wife ordered a delicious Corbin fish which was delicious- I ordered a 32 day aged NY steak-perhaps the best steak ever? I think so, the restaurant graciously gifted us dessert that was super yummy.

My husband and I visited Island Prime for our 35th anniversary, and it was a lovely experience. We had a table with a wonderful view of downtown, and the service from start to finish was exactly as I would expect a restaurant of that caliber would be. The wait staff was attentive and made our celebration special and memorable. The food and drinks were also spectacular. We had the filet trio, and it was prepared to perfection, as were all of our sides. We were treated to a special dessert for our anniversary at the end of our meal which was a special touch. It was our first time visiting Island Prime, and it won't be our last!
