Live just a few blocks from here and have been coming here for over 15 years, well before it was renamed and under new ownership. This has been my go to spot in the past, although I haven't been here recently due to a 6 month disaster relief deployment. Returned this morning at 9am and took a look around to see what tables were available with outlets (there were only 2 tables occupied in the entire place). Then I hear from about 10 feet behind me a stern and abrupt, "ma'am can I help you?" More of a scolding than a question. Then she (owner or manager?) proceeded to bombard me with a list if things I can't do-can't seat myself (never been told this before), can't request an area to sit (I was looking for a space a little more removed so I could do some work), can't stay more than 90 minutes (because she saw my laptop). Then repeated a few times that it's been this way since Covid, and I should know. Also asked me if I was new here?? She sat me at a table that was not at all what I needed and didn't give me a chance to speak or explain my needs. The table she sat me at was a 2-top squished between the only occupied table on the patio (the back of our chairs were almost touching) and the front entrance steps which obviously get the most traffic, the opposite of what I was looking for. I spent many years as both a hostess and server and I am very conscientious about being a good customer so this was completely unnecessary. For this reason, i am also aware of what is good costumer service and this definitely was not. This was not a pleasant way to start the day. I ended up just leaving and going to Better Buzz a few blocks down. Much more friendly and welcoming. Bummed that this place is not as laid back as it used to be. Not a good vibe.

Breakfast was great. Service was extraordinary. The place itself is cute, quaint, but could use some more parking. There's probably not a thing they can do about that though. We'll definitely go again.

A quaint antique atmosphere and good food. The inside is small, there are few more tables outside. The service is friendly but slow, so be patient and enjoy ?!Parking: Behind the restaurant are few spaces, otherwise park on the street.

Been eating here for years. Cute, unique spot. Close to home. But the service is always painfully slow. Nice staff but inattentive as ---. Today was over the top bad. Despite a quiet morning in the restaurant, water took 20 minutes to arrive and our 2 breakfasts took an hour and 10 minutes to arrive. No check in by staff. Eating out is too expensive to suffer over the top neglectful service.

My favorite breakfast place in San Diego! Not overpriced like many of the other places here. The ambiance is so nice (cute restaurant in one of Point Loma's oldest houses). The food is amazing and always SO hot so you know it's fresh. The coffee is absolutely amazing. I never buy coffee out, but I'll treat myself to a coffee here since it's something I know I'll never be able to make as good at home. Service is awesome - everyone is so kind and helpful. I always bring people that visit to breakfast here and everyone has loved it. They have tons of different options for people (basic breakfasts and cool new things to try). Bakery items are always so yummy too! It's also dog friendly on the patio which is always a plus for me! Highly recommend you try this place out!

We were new to this neighborhood and wanted to have lunch. This cafe looked so cute. As we entered and walked onto the patio entrance, no one greeted us, so we took a table, as others were seated. We waited several minutes, then I decided to walk in to inquire for a menu. I was then greeted by person,, who turned out to be the owner of the cafe. I said hello and asked if we could get menus, and she immediately went into a stern tirade...."we were not suppose to seat ourselves, we were suppose to walk in..yada yada." I apologized and told here we were new to her cafe and no one greeted us, so we seated ourselves. She then went into another tirade step lecture of "no one should ever walk into a restaurant and just seat themselves", etc. Lecturing us about protocol, and on and on. We then suggested that if we were so offensive, we'd be happy to leave. She ignored that, and kept on lecturing.......WTF!!!!! After she left to get us water, we decided to get up and leave this house of horrors. Walked across the street to Shanghai Bun and had the best homemade Chineses dim sum, champagne and service. Thanks mean lady,, because of your rudeness, we found Shanghai Bun. We highly advise anyone looking for a Chinese fusion dim sum and full bar....go there.

I cannot say enough good things about Jenings House Eatery and the owner, Cathy Gallagher. My husband and I have been coming here for a few years and have enjoyed not only the food but being able to engage with Cathy. Last year, I asked her about hosting the monthly gathering of my book club and she was very agreeable to doing so. She worked with me on a menu (a couple of appetizers, everyone ordering off the menu for lunch and then a Valentines Day dessert) and everyone in the group loved all the food. The atmosphere of Jennings House Eatery went very well with the book we were discussing and we had a wonderful time. Cathy took time out to speak with our group about the history of Jennings House, the surrounding area in Point Loma and how she came to bring the Eatery to life. If you're looking for a cozy place for breakfast or lunch, make sure to stop in. And don't forget to have a chat with Cathy!

We went to Jennings house for breakfast on Saturday and it was amazing. We have been many times, but this visit seemed like the best. Their place is always super clean with beautiful plants and decorations. They have a nice outdoor space or indoor if it’s cold as it was on Saturday morning. They also have this unique ordering system. It’s not just a menu on your phone, but you can order all of your items and pay on your phone. It speeds everything up especially check out time. The food is great! I had a scramble and my partner had their signature French toast, which is hard to describe, but it’s amazing. It’s specially made and I’ve never seen anything like it anywhere else. Also, we each had a scone for Jennings House Anniversary and it was the best scone I’d ever had. I don’t even like scones and these were so flavorful and perfectly baked. I highly recommend Jennings HouseParking: It’s easy -plenty of street parking every time we visit
