Ordered pick up at the Point Loma location. Food was very dry and tasteless, so I called to discuss the order and was told the manager is out of town and that I could not get a refund or a replacement. I was also told if you don’t like our food, don’t come back. 😆. Wow! This is a fantastic way to get return customers.
Food was fantastic and the bartender was very nice and helpful! Highly recommend!

Shanghai Bun Chinese Tapas Bar offers a great location in Point Loma. The restaurant has a cute and pretty decor with a cozy atmosphere. The staff is always very friendly, attentive, and nice. Happy hour is from 3-6pm, offering specials like hot sake. There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant, and the back patio is now dog friendly.
The food is delicious, with fresh and hot portions. Menu items include pork dumplings (soup dumplings), griddled pork & chives dumplings, shumai, chow fun, and fried rice. The scallion pancakes are highly recommended, though some found them very oily. The spicy wontons are good, and the Har Gow shrimp dumplings are liked. The duck bao tacos are also enjoyed. For variety, the large sampler is recommended. The food can be hit or miss, but there is definitely something for everyone. The waiter went above and beyond to pack desert. Overall, it is absolutely the best restaurant.
