I live under a mile away and I'm not within delivery range? What kind of downtown Jimmy John's doesn't have delivery. They also aren't available on Uber eats or grub hub. If you have zero parking and aren't in a nice location, you've got to have delivery to the downtown area.

Unfortunately as much as I want to give this place a good review I just couldn't. Riddled with drug use and homeless outside of the store. Food is OK. Definitely not the same quality as I remember when I was younger in Illinois. Super sad because this was a high school favorite of mine and I even told friends to check it out. Understaffed, 1 guy taking orders, cleaning, prepping and making the sandwich. Finally, they always have an excuse for why the rewards don't work on their machine. Overall kind of a bummer.

Jimmy John's is a great sandwich shop in the Midwest. It started in Illinois. Since I have lived in San Diego, this is the first shop that has opened. Usually, you would have to drive atleast two hours away. The sandwiches are the same here as any Jimmy John's I have been to in the Midwest. The sandwiches are great! The fresh bread and great ingredients make for a very satisfying sandwich. My favorite: #4 Turkey with cheese and extra mayo Try them with the Jimmy peppers!

I love Jimmy johns , but this place is majorly understaffed and slow and no place to seat and no parking . Not recommended.

12 years of waiting for a Jimmy John’s to breach the outer walls of San Diego county, did not exactly expect this one. Same great sandwiches, thankfully! Service was ok. I showed up during a big lunch rush and they were backed up. The real flaw here is the location. Building is small, like any downtown. Parking is absent, good luck if you don’t live nearby or aren’t already in the area. No indoor seating, no typical Jimmy John’s decorations, no jars of peppers on the wall, just a simple counter and menu. Odd to me that this is what JJ’s chose as their entry to the San Diego market. If you’re reading this and this is your first Jimmy John’s experience, the food is up to par but the ambience is better at any other location (excluding airports). Can’t wait for them to open other SD locations (there’s a whole bunch supposedly coming) so I never have to venture downtown for this one. In the meantime, the subs (and really, the cravings for nostalgia of Jimmy John’s from living elsewhere over a decade ago) really are that good.

I love Jimmy John's and this is the only one close to me! Why is there a problem with my order every single time!!!! It makes me sad! I just don't understand. I keep hoping it will be just normal but man. If you order online or delivery I think they just use all the old food and bread. They use stale bread which is crazy to me! They barely put any mayo or avocado. Mostly already browned avocado. I normally never write reviews but I'm upset. They never cut the sandwich in half or pack napkins and utensils even when you select it. It's just irritating at this point and I want all my money back. Not only that, the delivery driver I just had took it to the wrong door I called him and he was like oh yea idk I think I took it to a different door like what? That's probably separate but I wouldn't be able to get ahold of them because they don't give you an option to. But the woman I live with goes in and her stuff is completely different. Weird. Stop making sandwiches with HARD bread! Ahhhhhh what a waste.

This is a no frills to go only Jimmy John's location. It shares an extremely small space with Dunkin' Donuts. The person who helped me was friendly and guided me through their rewards process. Me being the big eater, I went right for the money shot ordering the J.J. Gargantuan. It's the biggest sandwich on the menu! Loaded with genoa salami, ham, capicola, roast beef, turkey & provolone, it's for a meat lover and not for the faint (or weak) of heart. Its so thick that you might be hard pressed to get this monster into your mouth. Somehow I managed though I've had years of practice eating thick sandwiches. If you also grabbed a bag of their pickle potato chips you can add a sweet, dilly, briny crunch to every bite of your monster sammie. Nom! This location doesn't deliver though you can order ahead online or their app and pick up. Plus dont forget about those rewards! "Because sandwich" -Jimmy John's marketing group

Please be open later. Gaslamp needs a late night food option and Jimmy John's could be it. Nobody eats JJ's from 3-9pm. They want it for lunch and for after the bar. Do the right thing and change the hours please.

Been to Jimmy Johns 4 times in the last two weeks and got our online order wrong every. Single. Time. Its been the exact same thing and its getting frustrating now. We love jimmy johns! But may not be able to utilize the location we’ve been waiting so long for anymore!! Or at least until they work out the very obvious kinks from recently opening. ):

What has great sandwiches and is smaller than a bread box? This Jimmy John's..for reference this Jimmy John's is roughly one quarter the size of a normal Jimmy John's which makes it really hard for the staff who are very friendly to meet Jimmy John's freeky fast sandwich mantra..And the fact that there is zero parking to be had makes it a little bit more of a challenge to eat here if you don't happen to live in the vicinityAnyway good sandwiches good luck Jimmy John's with this location you're going to need it

Freaky Fast! Just opened in the heart of San Diego, right near HOB, FedEx and 5th Avenue trolley stop. Wonderful subs, chips, and drinks. And Dunkin for dessert. Brand new store! Pickle flavored chips and Lipton Iced tea. So beautiful it brought me to tears. And did I mention Freaky Fast. I joined their Freaky Fast Rewards, made an pickup order through their app and they said I get a free sandwich on my next order. The rewards are freaky Fast. Is this the first JJs in San Diego? It might be.
