BBQ was mediocre at best. No flavor. Couldn't even taste the smoke.

What a cool experience. Mike was one of the best bar tenders I’ve come across.

Oh no no no.... Really bad, The food was not good, The meat is cooked with no salt no pepper no nothing, When they serve it to you there's no barbecue sauce on it, They will bring a bottle of barbecue sauce and set it on the table, these people don't know what they're doing, They hire a bunch of sassy rude girls, there is no good service here, The place is old and worn out worn down.

I’m not familiar with MO bbq at all but the brisket I got here was so dry and looked almost orange - I came in on a Monday so maybe it was leftovers from the weekend and not fresh like I expected - but I was not impressed - I took it home and microwaved it with a wet paper towel to half revive it. The hot link was decent so I ate that at the restaurant. The service was good but won’t be back for the food.

Fun spot near the convention center, lots of Top Gun decor and photo ops. Food was good, too! I liked the mac and cheese 👍

I got the ribs. The plate came with 4 bones and then you choose your sides. I've never been here until July 2025. It felt great that I was finally able to see the inside and be in it from the movie.

My favorite decoration was the bras hanging on the ceiling fans. And the ceiling fan was still spinning. Thank you ladies who donated their bras. I wish more places like tilted kilt did that.

There was even autographed bank notes/currency taped onto the walls.

The inside was very patriotic themed. Looks perfect! Try the onion rings!

The peach cobbler was sweet!

Ordered the 3 meat meal. Chicken , ribs, and brisket. Only the brisket was moist, everything else was dry and tough. Premium price for mediocre food just because Top Gun was filmed there. Tourist trap now and a shell of what it was years ago.

It's exactly what you would expect if you fell in love with the sleazy bar scene from the original Top Gun. Lots of photos memorabilia and the like. As well as the famous piano you can get a picture with. All this being said, the atmosphere is great and food so delicious. Highly recommend it!

If it wasn’t for Top Gun being filmed here it would have closed years ago. Food was gross and the bartender needs to learn manners. Me and another patron was highly offended how we were spoken to. He needs a better process for sure.

Ribs were dry
Burnt ends were bits of pork charred not true ends

Service horrid with asks for water ignored

Great tourist trap with lots of fan photo

The atmosphere is a TEN, and the food is authentic, so MORE than FIVE STARS! Never gonna get a Michelin tire, or whatever, but GREAT down home cooking! (I sat at the bar until friends arrived, and the service was EXCELLENT!) And the owners greeted customers, and cleaned up a spill!!!

Walk into bar in San Diego and what do you have? 80's music playing on the speakers, a handsome bartender with a gravely voice, bbq as good as you had it down south, and a tall Top Gun brew to wet your whistle... just like it was right out of a movie. Wait... It was in a movie! And I got the t-shirt to prove it ha ha.

I'm from Kansas City and I love bbq. I was hoping this place would have good BBQ but I was very disappointed. I got the combo plate with the brisket and burnt ends. The brisket was tender and that was about the only thing good about it. The burnt ends were nothing special. If this place was in KC I would never eat here again. They only had one sauce besides ketchup and it was so runny I had to add ketchup to get it to stay on the meat. The sauce was vinegar based which is what I prefer, and not sweet but it tasted fermented like it got left out too long. They should have named us San Diego BBQ because it tastes nothing like any ofy favorite BBQ places back home. Even the cheesy corn wasn't cheesy, it was watery and nothing cheesey stuck to the corn.

I rather have hamburger at burger king at the
same price. I think I don't need go say anything else. Their beef are all pre-made and we'll done. Guys yelp reviews are more accurate than google. Waste of money
