It was a rainy cool day. They had all the doors open to the restaurant. It was chilly! I wasn't ready for a chilled out restaurant. Otherwise, the food was the norm at Karl Strauss restaurants. Not out of this world or bad. I only drank water so know idea on the booze. Waiter did well.
The food is excellent, but the service is awful. We went there the other day and stood at the door for 10 minutes with nobody coming to sit us even when half of the place was empty. If you have a reception desk, have a receptionist there at all times. For the price of the food, I'm sure you can afford it. Food options have seriously decreased. This really is a place centered just on beer. Getting together with friends would be ideal if you just want appetizers. Beer as always for the past couple decades is really good, so that is a plus. Very loud inside - outside in the evening is a better option if you want to have conversations.
