La Vecindad Neighborhood TACOS

Randomly stopped by La Vencindad for taco tuesday - great deals and fantastic food. Great tortillas and generous amounts of filling - the Perron tacos are particularly good. A good number of creative vegetarian options too! Also, it's seasonal but the champurrado was a MUST TRY - so thick and creamy, everything hot chocolate dreams it could be and more.

Also must add, the service was top notch. The staff was so friendly and the perfect level of attentive, and the food came out quick!

Hands down my favorite taco joint in San Diego. The wait staff is friendly and welcoming. Alex always greets me with a big hug and owners Tony and Ignacio (Nacho) always extend a hand for a shake. The tacos are delicious and they have a great Taco Tuesday special: 2 tacos for $8 and $9 house margarita. I come every Tuesday and it’s one of the high points of my week. My favorite taco is the Costal Azul which has bacon wrapped shrimp, avocado, shredded cabbage and a bunch of other goodies. The atmosphere recreates a truly Mexican vecindad with kitschy wall adornments, laundry hanging on the line and simulated windows with people leaning out of them. It’s like a quick trip south of the border without having to deal with crossing the actual border. I’m sure you’ll love it

First time here and it was fantastic…great service, really good Mexican food with an aztec kick, and the drinks are really good. The standouts were the house margarita and the Seafood trio taco. The guacamole was good but $13 for a small cup of it but outside of that great place to eat some really good food

The food has an authentic Mexican flavor and the service is very good. Try the tortilla soup, the longaniza taco and the stuffed chile taco and you won't regret it. I only see an area of ​​opportunity in the brand of beers they offer. Very good sauces.

Best Mexican food in San Diego! Ran by three brothers using their family’s passed down recipes. They were so friendly and welcoming. We tried their tacos and burrito and were blown away! The green salsa at the salsa bar was delicious. The drinks were amazing too! Try their micheladas. Wish we would have found this place sooner.

Went for the happy hour, and I have to say their tacos are excellent in taste, full to the brim, and I love how many vegetarian options they had! Also got a tamarind margarita which was excellent. Especially during happy hour deals (Mon, Wed, Thu: 3-6 pm)

The decor and ambience is also super cool, and the staff is super friendly! A definite recommend for vegetarians seeking good taco options beyond just beans and rice: I had the nopal (cactus), hongos (mushrooms), and the chile relleno

I finally found my spot. Best tacos I’ve had since I moved from Oakland. And a delicious pepina margarita.
