Would not recommend at all and will not be coming

I thought I'd give this location a try since I love the Otay location. The menudo was not cooked completely and hard to eat, chilaquiles were soggy and no crunch to them, the nice square you get in Otay was just a mess in this location. Wish the pictures posted was what you received, but no. Disappointed and only 2 stars, had to wait to be seated with no one greeting us for 10 minutes and many empty tables. Not returning

A couple of authentic items you will not find anywhere else with original flavors from Jalisco. 1st: Tortas Ahogada. No one else really makes this in SD. Definitely the real deal just like a puerto in Guadalajara. 2nd: Cafe de Olla. This is the only coffee that I drink, and I have not been able to find a better place in SD (besides Maggie's Cafe, also in Barrio Logan). 3rd: Carne en su jugo. Again, have only had this great flavorful dish in Guadalajara, where this dish originated, noone comes close in SD. Oddly, I have not had chilaquiles yet, but they look delicious.

Kid-friendliness: They will make basic tacos for the kids, and the kids like them.

I was not impressed at all. $20 bucks for soggy chilaquiles, its basically cheap GMO corn tortillas cooked in burnt canola oil and dipped in sauce and they messed up my order too. I ordered the crema poblana ones at the recommendation of the person there and they gave me green sauce ones, it was to go so I didn't realize I got the wrong order till I got home. They also don't include any protein, normally they would come with a couple of eggs but they charge you $5 extra for meat. I asked for the birria which was ok I guess but the tortillas were old and stale and had absolutely nothing special about the flavor. Growing up we would feed the pigs wet tortillas with some left over salsa, that's what this meal reminded me off, pigs left over food. At $20 bucks for the meal, its pretty ridiculous. The place look ok inside, its almost always empty when I drive by. They are trying to cater to the padres fans with very loud Mexican rock music, you can't even hear yourself think in there which is why I ordered to go. Not going back, they were not friendly either.

I recently visited Los chilaquiles and had an amazing time. The chilaquiles with their green and chipotle sauce were simply outstanding. The combination of tangy freshness and smoky spiciness was a flavor explosion. The friendly staff and inviting ambience added to the overall charm of the place. I noticed that other tables were also enjoying their meals, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. The staff was attentive and passionate, ensuring a memorable dining experience. this place is a must-visit for chilaquiles lovers and offers a diverse menu to cater to various preferences. Highly recommended!

Nice place, most important good food and attentive service. Sauces not so spicy, for those ones cannot support spicy, this is fine. For those ones looking for spicy it is the habanero sauce for you ☺️??

Unfortunately, we came here with high expectations but found ourselves disappointed. We couldn't even eat most of our food. I ordered the breakfast chilaquiles with medium skirt steak and medium eggs. The eggs came overcooked and toasted yolk. I asked them to fix it and he said it was someone else's order. Later he brought my plate and when I tried the steak, right away noticed the meat was super overcooked and tough as well, it's definitely not skirt steak! Idk which cut it was but definitely not skirt or any good cut at that. I could not eat it. I let my server know so he could give the chef feedback. I told him I didn't want another steak because at that point I knew I didn't like their meat. I hope he gave the chef the feedback. All of our orders were good in concept and looked good but were poorly executed and disappointing once we tried them. The chips from the chilaquiles were fried in stale oil and tasted bitter which made them inedible. My second eggs were toasted on the outside but the whites were totally raw on the inside. The sauces on the chilaquiles were decent but ruined by the style chips. Our server brought our $80 check and saw our plates almost untouched and didn't ask why or if something was wrong which makes me not wanna come back. It's sad because we wanted to support this place and we're so excited to try it. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. I hope they see this feedback as a chance to improve because it didn't seem like the chef cared in house. If they get better execution on their concept, this place would be a gem. Also, for the quality of their ingredients this place is overpriced. If you're gonna charge short of $20 for chilaquiles, you've gotta get it right.

If you like Mexican breakfast with a little spice, this is it. And very filling! I ordered the signature breakfast plate, chillaquilles (of course), eggs, beans, potatoes, and steak. Everything was delicious, I couldn't finish it. The gentleman that served me, I didn't get his name, said he was part owner. They had roots in Jalisco. He knows how to run the business. Everything was great, even the music. Take a little time and enjoy this place.

Got some chilaquiles and they were very bland. We tried cilantro/ mas picosos and flavor and heat just were not there. One plate also came with a side of meat which had no sear or seasoning. I was very dissapointed but next time ill try a different

Unfortunately everything we ordered was not good. No flavor, pretty much a waste of hard earned money. We were disappointed because we really wanted to continue supporting this location because it's in a beautiful area and close to home. Won't be going back.
