Lucy Ethiopian Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience. The injera is great, and the food is aromatic and well-cooked. The vegan special and Awaze Tibs (stewed spiced beef) are exceptional, with plenty of leftovers. The owners are warm and gracious. Customers highly recommend this hidden gem for its authentic and flavorful Ethiopian cuisine.
The smoky hot chili paste is exceptional, ranking among the best sauces in town. The vegan special is enough for two but so delicious that many finish it alone, especially enjoying the cabbage with carrot, collard greens, and mesir. The salad dressing is simple yet addictive, and the beets, split peas, and lentils are perfectly stewed. The injera soaked in sauces and chili paste tastes even better. The wait staff is attentive, making it a great spot for families and first-timers. The hospitality is welcoming, and the food speaks for itself. Many call it their favorite Ethiopian spot in San Diego.
The ginger tea is refreshing, and the Ethiopian coffee is a must-try. The food here is truly delicious, making it an experience worth savoring. The cafe is neat with lovely and unique decor, the menu is extensive and reasonably priced and the food was very good. The service was fast, and the server took the time to explain the food and answer questions about the process of making the injera. It was a lovely cultural experience that would gladly be repeated. The food was so delicious even the spongy bread. The portions are big! It’s perfect!
