Had a lovely birthday dinner for a friend. The staff was attentive and the food was good. Especially enjoyed the jazz trio which really added to the celebration and the "old school" style of the restaurant. A very nice experience and will return.

Fabulous Steakhouse Thursday night dining with live music. A completely unexpected treat. Experienced elegant service. White table cloth and fresh red rose on our table. At our table a filet mignon was flambé d. We watched a server prepare a fresh Caesar Salad table side. Truly enjoyed thr romantic ambiance. Thank you Manhattan of La Jolla you made my birthday very special.

Good doesn't do justice to this restaurant. Located in the Empress Hotel in La Jolla, we decided to try it with friends on arrival, as we were tired. We had expected an average hotel restuarant. Boy were we wrong. Just to give this some context, we live in Bend,OR, where we eat out very frequently. We moved there from San Diego 5 years ago, and had lived in San Diego for 40 years... but never went to this restaurant. That was our loss. Every staff member was impeccably trained,...
