Mason Ale Works Tasting Room is an interesting spot in the heart of Barrio Logan, close to a bus stop. It is very spacious, with a beautiful dog-friendly beer garden in the back. The beer is yummy, with a great selection of fantastic brews, including IPAs like Frankenstein Juice and The Bride of Dankenstein, a refreshing hazy IPA, Mexican lager, ciders, sours, and non-alcoholic options. They do not serve outside beer, only their own brew. A separate business out back serves food, including Ribeye fries, tacos, tortas, papas locas, and beans. They host Taco Tuesday.
The place hosts a ton of different events throughout the week, such as jazz nights on Tuesdays, reggaeton night, and live music. It can be a bit dimly lit out front, and with folks hanging out in front, it could deter some people. However, the staff is super helpful, friendly, quick to attend, and attentive. It is a spot where you never know what will happen or who you will meet. People are very friendly. It is recommended to take a chance and visit.
