I don’t like giving bad reviews but this place deserves it. This is the place to be renamed the Mean Girls cafe. The only thing this cafe serves is bad attitude and passive aggressive comments. They were rude to a new mother asking for a changing station in the bathroom. So much attitude for the simplest inquiries. Apparently I’m not alone in this as I’ve read the other reviews complaining of the same thing. I got attitude for waiting to figure out my order, even though no one was in line. Also the service for an overpriced latte was SLOW. Again no one was behind me. The whole place had a vibe like a yoga retreat in Tulum that entitled White women go to and later find it it’s actually a cult. Don’t go here. And yes they will reply to this but judging from the other comments, they have no intent to fix the issues.

I’ve been super excited to try this place, it’s been on my “yummy drinks” bucket list for a while. I walked in with my mom and sister and before we even stepped inside of the building, the girl at the cash register was giving us dirty looks — staring at us up and down. When we walked in, I said “hi,” and she continued to stare at us. All of us were in sweaters and jeans, we were quiet and were respectful of the place we were walking into. There was absolutely no reason to stare at us so rudely. It wasn’t brief either, the stares were clearly intentional. We walked around the store feeling very uncomfortable after being ignored and rudely stared at. For a place that’s supposed to embody welcoming vibrations, kindness and an open heart, we felt everything but that inside of Maya Moon. It was very unfortunate as the inside looked lovely and drinks were appetizing, but we struggled to justify buying anything after being greeted in such a disturbing manner. When we walked out, she watched us leave peaking from the green curtain, again staring at us. I had recommended this place to my university friends and other family in SD, but I will be letting them know this isn’t the place to go as it does not seem as welcoming as advertised. Bad look for what the company values, and wondering if we were treated differently because of our skin color. Whatever it was, we are extremely disappointed and will not be going back.

Unfortunately, our experience with Maya Moon Collective has been disappointing due to their failure to fulfill their financial obligations. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue professionally, payment for Modrn Medicin cafe sales remains unpaid, well beyond the agreed-upon timeframe.
As a small business we rely on timely payments to maintain our operations. Regrettably, Maya Moon Collective has not demonstrated the level of professionalism or integrity expected in honoring contracts. This situation has not only strained our business relationship but also raised serious concerns about their reliability and trustworthiness.
I hope Maya Moon Collective addresses this matter promptly and works toward resolving it. However, based on our current experience, I would caution others to exercise due diligence when engaging with them.
Drove 1.5 hrs for a chocolate experience for my husbands birthday and all chocolate drinks and truffles were sold out — it was only 2pm.
Beautiful cacao cafe. Barista was welcoming and educated me on the menu. I had the sun latte and grass fed steak sandwich. Delicious. Plenty of table to work or chat with friends.

This place should not exist.
A “steak sandwich” (bread, mayo, lettuce), frozen hot chocolate, a Mexican sol cacao drink, a potato frittata and a cranberry muffin. The frittata took forever to come out to the table, it was cold and came with a side of lettuce with balsamic vinegar, nothing more nothing less. My total was $49 and some cents.
Your dollar can go much further elsewhere rather than this place.

This place presents a very inviting and calming atmosphere. I tried the 'Moon latte calm and balance', zucchini muffin, and they both were good. This is a nice spot for anyone looking for healthy options.

This is one of my favorite places in all of San Diego County. Their chocolate cake and many other delectable vegan treats are amazing. The chocolate pistachio cake is so rich and decadent. Their hot cocoa is divine. The staff are super kind and helpful. The space itself is very spacious with a lot of natural light and plenty of seating. I'm so thankful for Maya Moon.

Overpriced and disappointing. I got a chai latte and it tasted very watered down. I was really hoping it would be good too because it is a cute coffee spot but the drink was rather disappointing and overpriced.

I had a wonderful first visit to Maya Moon Collective today. My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday because he knows I love chocolate and have numerous dietary restrictions (not by choice), particularly any added sugars, dairy, and gluten. I had the Classic Cacao iced, unsweetened with their house made almond milk (I always bring Stevia drops to sweeten) and it was SO GOOD. I also had the quiche which had no cheese/butter and GF almond crust with side greens and olive oil to dress... also SO GOOD and SO FRESH TASTING!
It's a rare occasion I can eat out and not feel like crap afterward.
What really took me by pleasant surprise was THE SERVICE... I could not believe how kind, patient, and even enthusiastic Patrick was with all of our questions about the menu items. I usually feel bad for asking questions anywhere else I go but he really cared and found the answers. Patrick and Tati created a lovely experience with smiles and sweetness even while it was mid-day at 90°+ out. The only downside is no A/C but I will be back for many future visits! Thank you both ❤
