Meet Dumpling

This is as mom and pop is as good as you can get for 2026. Dad works the floor, summer the daughter helps dad out and mom and other family members work the kitchen. Regardless of what people say about “women in the kitchen” you know the food will be the best food when a restaurant is this way. The food here has soul out into every dish and the consistency is amazing. One of the best restaurants to come to Point Loma. It can get busy from 6-8pm most evenings.

This hard working family is doing an incredible job to bring authentic Chinese to us. Ignore the bad reviews, people have no idea how hard this family is working. The place is small, but thats what makes it so amazing.

Extremely rude owner. A tall guy working there allowed a child to sit at a table while speaking to us in a very disrespectful way. We politely asked to be seated at a larger table instead of being pushed into a corner, and he responded in a mean and dismissive manner, saying we would only get it if we had more people. His attitude was so bad that we got up and left. I do not recommend this place. They seriously need to learn basic customer service and how an owner should treat customers. And the restaurant was empty

OMG this is amazing, authentic dumpling! I ordered the green pepper pork and scallop shrimp pork dumplings and they were just so good! The noodles were also very good but the dumplings are stunning. The starters are so very good! I highly recommend this place. Will def return. Love this place.

Best dumplings in the world! They are ofc handmade, scrumptious in every way. Their hand mixed sauce that contains red chilli oil and soy sauce was so delicious. The owner was so gracious and we learned some Chinese as we talked about our adventures around the world.

I really didn’t feel the need to gas this place up. It was a 1 hr wait (we pregamed at Harbor Town Pub), they have all the people waiting that they can handle, and yet it was so freaking good.
They were slammed, and to help move things along, they only take one round of ordering at a time. The staff are very friendly, despite being busy make sure they come around to refill water at all times, check on us and take away plates. Food came out at reasonable times considering how busy they are. Our male server was so warm and welcoming.
The menu isn’t the largest and I think it’s helped them to really make excellent products. We got their green onion pancakes (unbelievably crunchy), rougamo (meaty Sando with that same crunchy pastry dough), cucumber mushroom salad is always refreshing, beef noodle soup (meat was tender, soup flavorful and noodles are lovely chewy), 3 types of dumplings: shrimp and pork, chicken and mushroom and a dark horse of beef and green bell pepper. All of them so good, so addictive, mixed with that hot sauce which is so amazingly good.
This place is pretty stupid good and I hate it.

Visited because of the high ratings.
The menu is quite limited, and dumplings seem to be the main focus — about one third of the menu is dumplings.
We ordered zhajiang noodles, beef noodle soup, wontons, and pork & napa cabbage dumplings. For sides, we had marinated beef, tofu skin, and a chive pocket.
To be honest, after traveling around Florida for 8 days, this place served the smallest portions we’ve had.
The dumplings and wontons were actually pretty good — not salty, very mild and normal in flavor.
But the chive pocket and zhajiang noodles… wow, they were extremely salty.
The chive pocket was fried really well, super crispy and delicious when hot — credit where it’s due — but way too salty. And at $9 for one, it was very small (about palm-sized).
The zhajiang noodles were even saltier than the chive pocket. I was honestly on the verge of tears while eating 🥲.
I didn’t try the beef noodle soup, so no comment on that.
That said, the place is clearly popular — there was already a line forming by the time we finished eating.

Wow, fantastic spot. Great non-typical dumplings and vegetarian options. Portion size, seasoning, everything was well balanced (if you want it spicer add the chili sauce). Just wish the restaurant and the parking was larger.

It was a little interesting at first, but once in there it was cozy even a little too cozy with the pleasant music -
So we relax a bit as we chatted and anticipated wonderful napa cabbage dumplings that were amazing and thanks to the customer service and advice on mixing inappropriate sauce, we continue to dive in and enjoy such a pleasant treat.
They're lucky it was already on second visit to a food location that evening, or else we would have got more things 😆
So you going over there and get yourself a bunch of items, it'll be so worth it!

I've been privileged to eat the best homemade dumplings on earth on a regular basis growing up thanks to my mom and grandmother. These dumplings are the only restaurant dumplings I've ever found that taste almost identical. This restaurant has my enthusiastic seal of approval as a dumpling lover!
