We came back to Modern Times after our trip to San Diego 7 years ago and it still does not disappoint! Glad you guys are still here and we will be back! Special shout-out to Frank who made us feel so welcome — so welcome in fact, we came back on Day 2 to see Frank and say hello/goodbye again (we are from the Philly area). We had such a great time again, and the beers of course are always on point! Shout out to Shawn who also made us feel welcome! We will be back! Thanks guys...
Great spot to have a beer with some friends. They don't serve food, but allow you to bring your own - don't forget your own napkins, too!
Located a 2.5 minute walk from 5+ eateries, this isn't a problem. Insufficient traffic when I go to make it feel like a place to go solo for drinks, but I go there probably 4x/year with friends. Definitely worth checking out

Very reasonably priced beers. The coffee stout was smooth and delicious. The ambiance of the place is fun with board games, lamp shades on the ceiling and records. Even the bathroom was decorated well (shown in the pictures). I would definitely come back
