Visiting from out of town, found this place by chance and was beyond impressed. Sat at the counter and we were guided through an experience we won't soon forget. So friendly, took out all intimidation some sushi restaurants can give off.
Kinda overpriced. Food was good... but nothing special. Overall pass.

The sushi is some of the best, with amazing rolls, specialty rolls, and flavorful Nigiri sushi. The box set, box sushi, nigiri sample platter, otoro nigiri, and the toast are mentioned as amazing. The staff are friendly and the chefs are knowledgeable, with great recommendations and top top tier skills. Sitting at the counter or sushi bar is fun, as you can watch them make the sushi. The restaurant offers a gluten free menu, tamari, and ponzu. It is kid-friendly, with special cutlery and kids cups, and the staff tolerate a loud bunch. Nagisa Sushi is described as an undiscovered gem and possibly the best sushi restaurant in San Diego.
