In short, it’s a place I’d only visit once. The food was underwhelming for the price, though the staff’s attitude was fine.

Went there around noon on a weekend and it was packed. Super loud inside, and the staff were clearly overwhelmed, tons of dirty plates sitting on tables, and flies were buzzing around because of that. The food really wasn’t worth the price. The bread tasted like it came straight out of the fridge, and overall it felt like one of those “assembly cafés” that just heat up pre-made stuff from Costco.

The vibe on a busy weekend morning isn’t relaxing at all, so it’s not a good place if you’re hoping for a chill brunch. I even saw one of the staff put their foot on a customer chair to tie his shoe, which was honestly kind of unsanitary.

Nutmeg Bakery & Cafe: A family-friendly gem in Sabre Springs, San Diego. This artisan bakery offers an array of comforting baked goods and hearty brunch dishes. Nutmeg expanded their space over the last few years, making this an inviting place for families, couples, and local foodies exploring North San Diego’s breakfast spots.

For Sunday brunch, we enjoyed a warm ham and cheese croissant. Its airy, flaky layers and butter richness complemented the ham and melted Swiss cheese to create a pleasant balance of salty and savory flavors.

The spicy corned beef hash was a substantial dish, full of brightly colored ingredients. It had a pile of vibrant scrambled eggs, corned beef bites, sliced green onions, jalapeños, red peppers and potatoes, and melted cheese. While the spice was milder than expected, some dashes of hot sauce enhanced its acidity and heat.

The ordering / dining experience was straight forward: order from the friendly counter staff, take a number, and settle into one of the many indoor or outdoor tables for efficient food delivery by the servers. Note: The outdoor area is in a cozy, shaded area with limited seating.

The counter service is noticeably friendly and welcoming. The floor service felt less attentive, likely due to the busy weekend brunch crowd.

Nutmeg Bakery & Cafe in Sabre Springs is a great choice for a tasty, mid-priced meal. It is well-suited for families or anyone craving artisan baked goods in North San Diego.

This is a great spot with an extensive menu and some really nice breakfast options. Depending on how busy they are, the service can be a bit slow. The plus sides are that there's no issue with parking, and you also have the option to sit outside.

Got the Benedict and it was hardly a meal for an adult. Not even half a cup of dry potatoes that can barely feed a child. I could literally count the number of potatoes on the plate with my fingers (<10 pieces) and they put maybe a few drops of hollandaise on the Benedict so it was super dry. 17$ btw. They're really going hard with the shrinkflation here it seems

This location has gone downhill. They also gave me regular bread instead of the gluten free bread I asked and paid extra for. Completely unacceptable for people with celiac and food allergies

Unique food choices. Relaxed vibe. Fun atmosphere. It can get crowded but they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is very friendly and helpful!

Wheelchair accessibility: No steps in or out. Room to maneuver inside (unless it is super crowded). Door is plenty wide for power wheelchair

Great place for "remote work" while enjoying great coffee and breakfast. I had the avocado toast and it was super good.

Came across this place before church. What a mistake, we grabbed a table outside and the first thing we noticed was an absolutely filthy table. It took me 20 wet napkins to wipe the filth off. I wish I would have taken photos of the 20 completely black napkins after scrubbing the disgusting table. My girlfriend wouldn't even use the silverware until i scrubbed that as well. The food was average at best. I will never come to this over priced filthy place again.

This place was so cute and the food was amazing. I didn't expect it to be that good, but there's a lot of variety and it is all fresh. Unfortunately come on not a huge fan of how they brought the food out a little bit at a time and they forgot our drinks until we had to remind them.

The gentleman who took our order was abrupt at best, almost terse. One of us ordered the Florentine Omelet and the other the Stuffed French Toast. The omelet was small and really a frittata, the veggies were cooked within the egg mixture which was overcooked. The French toast was over cooked and missing the fruit which was ordered as an option. We couldn’t get anyone’s attention to bring the missing fruit. The plates lacked any garnish or pride of presentation. The overall experience was the staff couldn’t care less about quality of food or service. Even the water was warm. We will not go back!

Amazing food! A little pricey but it’s quality ;) Wayyyyyy too busy on a Sunday at 12:00. We’ve been here an hour in total so far (between line and just waiting at our table) and still haven’t been served. That’s wayyy too long.
