Great event at Pali. They take care of their members with the wine pick up and occasional back patio events with great food in a fun urban setting.
We usually enjoy Pali on a regular night, but this was the Backyard Patio party. From the original invitation, we were under the impression there would be more seafood vendors. Meat/chicken/BBQ is not part of our diet so we were limited with the options. We would have liked at least one vendor (aside from the incredible dessert pastry chef) to have a vegetarian option, as well. Staff were friendly and towards the end, gave us second helpings of the dessert and tuna poke. It was a hot day under the black canopy but we enjoyed the atmosphere and spirit of the event. I would consider going again next year, but would like sommelier-style education at each station, explaining the wine and why it was paired with that particular food dish, or perhaps a host giving a short introduction as we arrived.
We went to the pick up party. It was really fun. Meeting new people and tasting new wines was excellent. They served 6 tastings and it was very nice. There was a charcuterie board and passed appetizers. The outdoor setting is pleasant. I would recommend checking out Pali wines.
Came here for Thursday night Trivia with a big group and it was a great time. Their food menu is pretty limited and they were out of N/A bevs besides sodas and water. They didn't come by our table to let us know there was a last call for food which was a bit disappointing but not a problem. Our group had a great time at trivia and the host was super fun. I would go back but probably eat something beforehand
Amazing service Food Drinks 10 stars! I would recommend this to all my family and friends great for groups!
What a terrific concept these wine bars are; the service and food was exceptional; and of course, the wine flight was a nice walk through the vineyard. I will definitely be back when I visit San Diego again.
We made the drive down from north county and after paying for parking, walk in and after waiting five minutes, a gentleman came over to tell us the kitchen was closed. We never received a phone call about this prior to heading down to the wine bar restaurant. We went with the intention of having dinner and drinking the wine. But didn't want to stay if we couldn't eat.
I love Pali! The wine is also so yummy and the flight is a great way to figure out what you want to drink or just try fun wines! The charcuterie board was really good too, a fun little appetizer. I've never had a bad experience here!
The waiter could not have done any less. He gave us the menus as we walked in to seat ourselves without saying anything. Gave us our wine and food without a word as well (even though we ordered $250 worth of food and wine). He clearly either hated us and his job lol.
We were there for a good amount of time and he did not check up on us once, the place was not busy at all. We are also a pretty easy going group, it’s not like we asked for a lot but just overall lack of care and attitude makes this establishment someplace I would not recommend people spending their money.
He eventually left without saying his shift was over and did not tell his coworkers we were still upstairs in the patio. We eventually had to go downstairs to ask for the check.
Great wine, great staff. Connor is fantastic; kind and knowledgeable. 10/10

The guy taking the order totally ignored my lovely dad When I let the manager know she just offered him water! 😂 not even an apology lol
Made reservations for my birthday to enjoy some nice calm time with my friend and stay out of the exhausting heat. However, to my surprise, we were sat at the rooftop with the scorching heat and the service did not seem to exist. It took a while for someone to take our order. By the time we were able to order, we were all drowning in our sweat, and then we asked to be moved indoors and it did not seem to be of any better. It was still excruciatingly hot and on top of that, the food that was ordered never made it to the kitchen. My friends and I waited a whole 1.5 hours to find out that our food was never submitted to the kitchen for prep. I have never had a more disappointing, unwelcoming service, and I have spent time at a winery in my entire life. My entire group honestly felt ignored most of the time. It was truly a disappointment. I wanted to like this winery, but I now have other thoughts, unfortunately.
Consistently great wine & experience. We’ve been coming here for years when visiting SD. Hard to beat the atmosphere on a nice day! Thanks for doing what you do.
Pali for trivia is such fun. The service is always impeccable and the wines are so tasty. Noise from airplanes is uncontrollable but just gives time to pause an sip your wine. Love Pali.
Wine Wednesdays & Comedy Nights?! Be weary...
Went with some friends on a reservation for half off bottles of wine on their Wednesday special but there was zero communication or posting from staff that the special applies to ONLY the front patio... We learned this the hard way... The bottles were already high ticketed and half off made slightly more sense... however the sticker shock that our table and the surrounding ones experienced was not cool. Our friends had been there the week prior and was told about the special to come back for and with a comedy night that was pay as you go for tipping the acts seemed like too good to be true... it was...
As for as the event, it was well staffed with very attentive servers who uncomfortably had to field our confusion of the "special" and it put them in a position that was not fair. Their service and attention to detail otherwise was excellent and their food menu had solid veggie options which was nice to see if you're looking for that.
All in all, communication up front about the back patio being excluded from the special would have gone a long way....
