Ordered coffee and can only speak to that, not the food! I ordered a cortado (or Gibraltar as listed on menu) and my girlfriend ordered some form of Christmas coffee with sprinkles. Both were lukewarm and speaking for the cortado, it was a bit sour and just didn’t wow me like I was hoping. After tasting the Christmas sprinkle latte, I didn’t find the flavors impressed me either. The decor was thoughtfully curated. Lot of open light and pretty plants. Seating indoor and out looked relaxing. Staff were very nice, too. I’d be willing to try again, but maybe not for some time.

Super cute and charming. Like being on a movie in Paris. Delicious finger food appetizer options for happy hour and great pastries too. Felt their team is still a bit getting adjusted since we were waiting to order and no one even noticed us. Also coffee was ready but no one was bringing to our table. Other than that we will absolutely be back. Cute outdoor courtyard with heaters.

Paradis Cafe is located in Mission Hills at the Sasan Apartment complex. The boutique cafe offers o Ritual Coffee from San Fransisco and matcha from Cuzen.
On this visit, I had a cortado and the almond frangipane focaccia. The cortado was rich in flavor and properly served in a gibraltar glass. The espresso was quite robust and smooth. I liked it very much.
I also liked the almond custard flavor of the frangipane but not the texture of the focaccia. It had a dry texture or even a little stale, although it tasted good. If they can perfect the focaccia with that good crisp exterior and soft airy chew on the inside, it would be just grand.
They do their baking in-house and have a lot of pastries and baked goods to offer. They also offer breakfast and brunch items, such as breakfast sandwiches, toast, acai, parfaits, and salads.
Paradis offers a beautiful inside patio, inside the cafe, and outside front sidewalk seating. The back outside patio is quite lovely. The service is very welcoming and friendly. I look forward to returning and trying their breakfast items. I do recommend making the food menu a little more visible and larger. I completely missed it and would have ordered off it if I were aware of it when I first ordered.

I’ve been coming to Paradis Cafe & Pintxos Bar in Mission Hills for several weeks since it opened, and it’s quickly become a favorite! The interior is absolutely charming and thoughtfully decorated, while the outdoor seating options — both sidewalk dining and a cozy courtyard — are perfect for enjoying San Diego’s beautiful weather.
The pastries here are made fresh every morning, and the coffee is easily some of the best in the neighborhood. The matcha drinks are a standout — they use a special machine that mills the matcha fresh for each drink, ensuring you get all the benefits and an unparalleled flavor. My go-to is the Oat Milk Latte paired with the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin.
The brunch menu is full of gems, like the Everything Bagel Scone, Stracciatella Toast, Paradis Breakfast Sandwich, and the Avocado Toast. If you’re here for lunch, don’t miss the Ancient Grain Salad or the Italian Sandwich served on their house-made focaccia — both are incredible.
In the evenings, the pintxos and tapas menu truly shines. I highly recommend the Gilda, Prosciutto Manchego Montadito, Pistou Shrimp, and my personal favorite, the Chopped Broccolini Crisp. Pair your bites with one of their mocktails, spritzes, or cocktails. The Sunset Halo is a refreshing mocktail choice, while the Eleventh Hour cocktail is a fantastic pick if you’re in the mood for something stronger.
Bonus: Saturday evenings feature a DJ spinning vinyl in the patio, adding a lively and stylish vibe to the space. Paradis is a true gem — whether it’s for a morning coffee run, brunch, or a fun evening out, it never disappoints!
