While passing through San Diego, we were looking for the best Italian restaurant. We found it! As soon as we arrived, the hostess directed us to our table and at the same time, the bread arrived. From start to finish the service was extraordinary. The food, excellent, fresh and generous portions. I highly recommend. We plan to go back this evening!

After spending a big chunk of time in Italy we are pretty picky with Italian food in the US though this place feels and tastes very authentic! The staff is extremely attentive and we were seated right away ( we did have reservations on a Sunday night) though it wasn't that packed.
We had mussels, minestrone and seafood pasta. We shared it and it was awesome that they split it for us at no charge. At the end they surprised us with complimentary dessert for our anniversary...

This is one of the few restaurants in the area that stays open later during the week, and the packed house definitely shows its popularity! We were starving and thrilled to find a spot that was open and just a short walk away (right across from the Target shopping center).
