10/10 - best taco shop I've had! Fresh non-greasy food bursting with flavor, friendly service, great menu options. Whatever they do differently here with their preparation, you can taste the difference!

This place is a go to spot. As much as I don't want to share how good it is to keep it small, they deserve all the business. Prices are great for what you get! Highly recommend the machaca burrito and everything else we've had is excellent.

Came in for a breakfast burrito. The food was average Mexican food and a large portion. Nothing fancy. The service was quick, and the inside with the couple of tables and murals had a fun vibe despite being small. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here, but in a pinch it was a good experience.

I was heading home and needed to grab some dinner. I searched for Mexican food and Cali popped up. I had never been, and I'm always looking for new places to try. This is a cute little place in a small neighborhood mall. Friendly greeting when I entered, and they've only been open about two years. I think they're under new owners because the interior looks different and so does the menu. They have quite a bit to choose from and since it was my first time, I really needed to study it. I decided on the adobado burrito and the ground beef fries which was really finely chopped carne asada, but they were soooooo good!!! I didn't even need salsa on my burrito, the pork was marinated so well! I'm really glad I found this place! I can add it to my rotation!

Hands down the best tasting food I've came across in a long time. A lot of taco shops here in San Diego tend to be hit or miss but Cali Fresh never seem to miss. Keep up the great work Cali Fresh Family. I'll be there today for lunch lol

Absolutely excellent despite the location this place is fire. Super huge burritos and excellent tacos. Limited seating I recommend calling ahead plus the parking is small and it's a next to a Starbucks drive thru full of morons running you over or blocking traffic

Man I had high hopes for this place when they first started. Everyone was nice and the food was flavorful. Now you get a Cali burrito with 80% soggy fries and condiments and carne asada with no flavor and to top it all off it was $12 monies. They have lost their passion for good food and now it's just filler.

The food is quite good and the ambience is great. Sitting upstairs with a band playing "Cuban" music was very good. The food comes across as somewhat prefab even though it took quite a while to get it on the table. Overall, a place to return to if in the area.

I think this place went through a new ownership change , but unfortunately it's lost its touch. Just 3 months ago I had arguably the best carna asada fries and California burrito. My recent visit I ordered a California burrito and the cali fries with adobada instead of carne asada. It was just disappointing. The burrito was stuffed 70% of fries than the other ingredients, the meat wasn't as flavorful as it used to be.The Cali fries was made wrong , and missing sour cream. It was layered fries gauc cheese then the meat ontop . Usually from all the other pictures of food posted , its cheese last melted . I hope it was just an off day , I'm willing to give this place 1 more shot , but if I get the same results, unfortunately I won't be coming back and looking for a new place .

We used to love this place when they were newer but it has done hill since then. We recently went in and ordered Cali fries to go along with other things. The skimp out on the hot sauces when we had multiple items ordered. The Cali fries had no sour cream and half of the fries were just fries. The fries used to be covered in guacamole, sour cream and cheese but it seems like we only ordered fries with a small slab of guacamole and an embarrassing amount of cheese.

Chris, our waiter was the goat. We had the best time and enjoyed three rounds of tequila. We loved it. This bar is awesome ? ???

We stopped by El Chignon on the first night of our visit to San Diego. We were looking for a place that was dog friendly, reasonably priced with decent food and drinks. El Chignon hit the mark on all counts! We appreciated the attentive wait staff and enjoyed our Baja Fish Burrito as well as the California Burrito with Flaming Hot Cheetos. They had a large selection of beer on tap -- we ended up ordering a Dos XX draft beer and "Battle of Juarez" margarita. We will definitely be back on our next trip to San Diego

Thought this place was fabulous. We sat at the bar and the two bar staff were amazing and it was the first time I actually wanted to tip 20% because I thought they deserved it for how hard they worked and for their chat with us. Food was good enough too. Happily come back again when next in the states.
