This was our first time dining at the La Jolla restaurant, but we've dined at the Newport Beach location many times when on vacation. We were in town for a wedding and needed a place to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday. We were very excited to find a Red O in La Jolla. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were just as expected: top notch. But what took our dining experience to the next level was our waiter, Sebastian. He was next level at every aspect of his job and made our dinner something extra special. He was fun and friendly and super attentive and gave great feedback on our food questions. He took our home run experience and turned it into a grand slam! I cannot recommend Red O enough if you want a quality meal with an expansive menu and a phenomenal location. It's a bit pricey but very worth it if quality on every level is your priority.

The food was good, but a $219 tomahawk steak & lobster combo the lobster was overcooked. Prices here were higher than the quality of food represented. Took 20 mins and 3 requests just to get a 2nd coke. Also, the table size for 8 people was way too small.

Vibe was awesome, service was excellent. But the smash burger was horrible! 3 of us had it and all concurred it was tough and not tasty-But itās our own fault for ordering a burger at a Mexican place. Appetizers and salsa were delicious. Iāll be back to try other menu items!

I was on a business trip and we went out for lunch on Wednesday. Itās six of us. We started with the non-alcoholic cocktail and avocado sweet potatoes. Followed by the steak bowl and Americano coffee. The server was friendly and responsive. The food was very authentic.

Had dinner here on a Friday night after a LONG week in the corporate office. The food and drinks were great but the service and our server Dillion were AMAZING! He was just the right level of engaging, friendly and helpful. His recommendations were phenomenal. Filet, carnitas, white sangria and margaritas - excellent!

Second time here and it doesn't disappoint! First time was on a trip out here in 2023 (I moved to SD from PA shortly after) and it was a first date location my boyfriend chose. I can't remember what I had to drink but got an order of the fish tacos and MY GOD they were the best. Went here again last night and just as incredible. Our waiter (I can't remember his name but he should get a raise) was the coolest guy and gave us a free drink! We put in an order of the duck taquitos and shared the enchilada trio which came with rice and refried beans. I used to hate refried beans until I tried what they make. If you love mexican food and don't mind spending a pretty penny for some authentic dishes, come here asap. You pay for what you get and it's worth it. Also the salsa is fire
