⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5 Stars
We recently dined at Royal Indian Food and were blown away by the incredible flavors. The food was absolutely amazing—rich, authentic, and full of depth in every bite. The service was equally impressive, with Jass providing friendly, attentive, and professional care throughout our meal.

The only reason we can’t give a full 5 stars is due to a small but distracting gnat problem. Unfortunately, a few kept flying around our table and food, which did take away from the overall experience.

That said, if they resolve the gnat issue, this place would easily be a 5-star dining experience. We’ll definitely be back for the outstanding food and service!

One of the finest Indian restaurants we’ve come across in San Diego! The owner, Ruby, has taken the food and experience to an excellent level — everything we tasted was full of authentic flavor and care.

We highly recommend this place — and whatever you do, don’t miss out on the Biryanis!

I went there today to get lump shank And chicken butter I was waiting for a long time. Nobody wanna take my order the manager she just look at me and she passed by. She doesn’t ask me anything. I was waiting for almost 1 hour and a half in there and I was asking everybody works there. I want to order One girl she helped me then I have to wait for my order for a long time. I spent like almost 100 for two items when I get home when I open the food is really small. I’m I buy for my kids And the food is really small after waiting for a long time I’m so disappointed I’m not going back there anymore

A surprisingly good experience. Kadai paneer and dal tarka was tasty. The service was quick. Simranjit did a fantastic job in serving us.

Went in December 2024. Biriyani was mediocre at best, the restaurant smelled like cleaning supplies

Not a terrible place, but not wonderful, either. I’ve never seen chaat on a bed of lettuce before. Food had decent spiciness, but was somehow bland, nonetheless. Decor is a bit tired.

The best Indian food I have ever had. The shrimp curry with coconut was excellent. I had the cheese Nan, and it was great.

Tried Royal India in San Diego and left with mixed feelings. The food was overall average — the pakoda was the highlight, crispy and flavorful. Unfortunately, the rest of the dishes, especially the chicken items, were quite bland and lacked the expected spice and depth. Biryani was good . Naan and veggie curries were average . Chicken tikka was bland. . Achari chicken was good.

Service was very slow — it took about 45 minutes for our food to arrive, which was frustrating. The atmosphere wasn’t great either; the tables were cramped and it felt a bit overcrowded. They do have some beer options, which was a plus.

Not a terrible experience, but definitely room for improvement in both flavor and service. Average experience . 3 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️

Two stars for atmosphere. Food is bad and service even worst. Ordered biryani and turned out as just spicy rice. Daal was very liquid with no taste. Only thing a bit better was samosa chat. The prices don’t justify the quality of food.

The worst service you can ever get. This restaurant is a disgrace to other Indian restaurants. First servers doesn’t even know what available on the menu that can be served. Second asked her about a drink; she has never heard of bourbon. Asked for lemonade; they gave ice water and squeezed lemon. I don’t even know how they’re surviving in the city like San Diego. My review is too an extent where I won’t even eat for free here is given the opportunity!! Same on the owner!
