great sandwich. best in town in my opinion

This was my first time having a sandwich from here and I will be back. I got the Dim Pastram and it was the cat’s meow. I loved the spiciness, flavor, amount of meat, and bread crunchiness. Kick @ss!

The cookie was a nice touch.

Vegetarian options: Whale’s Veg came in a close second for me option wise

This place is OK. Had been wanting to try this place due to multiple positive reviews and finally did. Safe to say though, I don’t understand the insane hype. Sure, the Dutch crunch bread is good but it’s kind of overwhelming without the sand which being properly filled. That said, I truly expected my sandwich to have adequate amount of Turkey, veggies, mayo, etc for the $20 price. I ordered pesto mayo on my sandwich and know for a fact it wasn’t on there. The avocado was, without exaggeration, 2 slices. Lettuce was minimal. Also $4 for portobello mushrooms ? Insane. Overall not the experience I expected.

I selected the garlic cheese roll, and it went well with the dip.
The only thing that I can say negative is that it took some time to get my sandwich.
They were very busy and worth the wait.
I would suggest calling in advance if you are in a hurry.
By all means, I will recommend going there, and I will return.

The food is amazing, but the prices are crazy!
If you order the SMALL spicy tuna sandwich and add bacon (Which is only one small piece, and not trying to sugarcoat that, one piece of bacon is 4$ extra) You’re gonna be out $18.. that’s no drink and no chips

Got there at around 5:30 and the wait time for 2 sandwiches was 40 minutes. I really like Rubicon, the UCSD location is my go to but the wait time and the fact that they were out of the bread and chicken I liked made me consider just asking for a refund. The food's good but having a bad experience has made me not want to come to this location again.
