Loved Happy Hour pricing, the food and the attentive service. Perfect blend of atmosphere… upscale with white table cloth, but still casual and welcoming. So happy we found this place. Great raw oysters, soups and Chilean sea bass!

This place is a nightmare before we step foot in the door!
1) Defensive and rude coordinator and manager. Servers were nice and I feel bad for them.
2) Restroom and corridor smells like cigarettes. Nice touch in covering with a sickly sweet scent.
3) Sketchy and scamming people out of money if things don’t go their way.
We have a large party where a standard reservation would not be possible on OpenTable. In comes a credit card with a $50/person charge if no show. We fill out their credit card agreement form regarding a no show and sent it to them a couple of days prior to the reservation date.
Sarah, coordinator, follows up stating we need to provide the form back on the day of. We responded we already did, so that’s odd.
The day of the reservation we viewed our details on OpenTable for the address, etc and noticed it was canceled. Called 5 times to the restaurant’s number and text message Sarah regarding what we see and if we can reserve another time then, or if we still have a table for the original time. The restaurant never picked up and Sarah responded hours later with cryptic responses. She basically never answered our questions. She calls the missed number and asks what we wanted. Huh? Umm you called and if we didn’t figure out it was your number…we would have hung up on you. She was rude on the phone and told us she didn’t read any of the messages and what did we want.
Per Sarah, original reservation was still there and not canceled. She said we have 30 minutes or we will be charged hundreds of dollars even though we saw the OpenTable cancellation and screenshot to her. Okay…we will scramble over as we are about 20 minutes away before our time. Got there, and mentioned to their restaurant manager, Gio, how no one was picking up the phone line and that Sarah was rude when she called back. The whole situation.
Yeah, we should have known better! Gio was dismissive and defensive. He implied we canceled and they can’t. He said he’ll talk to Sarah on Monday in their meeting. Then we proceeded with our appetizers. One of our party members found a long strand of hair in the appetizer (mind you that the plate is in the middle of a circular table) and it was in her mouth. At this point, we felt like unwanted patrons. Instead of being understanding how the night was already upsetting, Gio apologizes and then proceeds to tell us the chef is bald and not from them. He said they can replace the plate. Gio pushed his luck on basically implying it’s our fault. Over this and time for the check!
Then Gio stated he will bring the check and they are marking this as no show and we sill charge for the difference. Their credit card agreement form never mentioned a minimum and this is a NOT a no show. Sketchy and we will be sure to fight this no show charge if we see it.
Sarah’s and Gio’s unprofessional attitude and responses has made certain we will never step foot in here again.
We will be sure to let others know. Check out one of the party members’ Yelp review as they uploaded proof of the nightmare we went through with Sarah

What a great experience. My server, Thomas, really made me feel welcome. The Blue Point oysters were large fresh, the Kumiai oysters balanced out a lovely appetizer. The mignonette was uncluttered and poignant. The stuffed sole was a unique dish. The presentation was like artwork. The consistency was splendid. A very nice experience.

Very disappointing and unattentative service. Very rushing at the beginning. No one refill the water. Kept our table wait dessert for 20 min. The server did go to the next table to give the bill and credit card twice but just completed turned his head away when we tried to get his attention.
Food we ok. The seafood ragu definitely could be better.

The glassware here was noticeably dirty with specs of dirt floating in the drinks. The staff made it a point to say that steaks were only served at one temperature point (medium rare) which is odd in and of itself at a “steakhouse”, but the steaks came out overcooked (well done +) regardless. For a restaurant that advertises themselves as upscale, this establishment charges exorbitant prices for mediocre food, and should be avoided unless you’re looking for a disappointment

Most food was great but they forgot to bring out the appetizer. Eventually it came, after the main dish was served. They took it off the bill for us, but we felt rushed into the main course.
Enjoyed thie SDRW 3 course dinner! I ordered the crab cakes for my appetizer, salmon for my entree and tiramisu for dessert. Others in my party ordered the oysters, 16 oz steak, and limoncello. Additionally, we ordered sides (Parmesan fries and Brussels sprouts) and alcoholic beverages. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented! Our server Thomas was very attentive and accommodating. The ambiance was casually elegant, airy and bright with all the large windows. and it felt like we were aboard a cruise ship with the decor and portholes. Highly recommend this place!
Centrally located with good food and great service. Stopped in and sat at the bar, the bartender was knowledgeable and helpful. Ordered the crab cakes starter, then the ribeye with shrimp and asparagus. Everything was good, the crab cake had a bit of filler and the steak didn’t have the char but it was cooked perfectly otherwise. Great choice if you’re walking around gaslamp, but there are other options for steak a little off the strip if you’re flexible
