Sapporo Restaurant

Wow I love this place. it's so convenient, right in the heart of OB and it's like a 90 second walk from the beach. The staff is very friendly and always entertaining you and making you feel at home. Out of all the sushi restaurants in OB that I've tried, their fish at Sapporo is the most fresh and has better flavor. Try the tomato roll or the joe roll, those are my favorites. As an OB local, I frequent Sapporo at least once a week. I sit at the bar and am always greeted and well cared for. I love the Salmon Salmon roll and if I am ordering off of the menu, I go for the tonkatsu or for their steak special (it's a local secret and i'll not divulge which night it's on because they run out). As soon as this quarantine lifts, I will be right back at the bar with my Cabernet and a fat, juicy steak with a side of rice and Japanese potato salad.

Sapporo continues to win polls for best sushi for several years in a row because it is the best. I also love their other Japanese dishes. My favorite is the chicken teriyaki combo plate. This is a family run business and has been in OB for 20 plus years. The interior is charming and the exterior looks great with new paint and a wonderful new mural of a Japanese woman. I've been a regular customer for most of those years.
