Was introduced to this place 3 years ago. It’s in a strip mall full of places to eat, and mail/hair lash extensions. Best broths are Spicy Miso and Sukiyaki. But any of the broths are great when you add the spices. Protein favorites are pork belly and New York steak. I hear the lamb is fantastic.

We stopped by yesterday and pleasantly surprised. I’ve had Shabu before but not this place. It was flavorful. I can’t speak to auto since I’ve never been to Japan but this was pretty tasty. I had the AYCE #3 and spicy miso broth. When I return to SD, I plan to revisit. I’m an omnivore so I can’t speak to vegan/vegetarian options.

Their ponzu sauce and meat options are amazing! The size and openness of the eating space make it easy to be seen and served. Fair prices for food, but crazy parking. Prepare for a walk.
Great spot for hot pot. Fresh ingredients, solid broth options, and fast service. The service and vibe is warm and cozy. Perfect for a group hangout or a cozy dinner. We plan to come back at least monthly
Kirby took care of us right away even though he was busy. Greeting us and making us feel comfortable with any questions we had. The food tasted great.
I’ve been coming here since I moved to San Diego in 2011… and it still does not disappoint. It is so comforting and beyond delicious each time I go. I highly recommend it! It is my go to for a warm cozy meal.
Delicious, enjoyed the food very much….
I recently visited a Japanese shabu-shabu restaurant with friends, and it was a unique experience focused on the cooking process. As someone who usually eats quickly, it was a great opportunity to slow down and enjoy the process . The restaurant is perfect for groups of two people, they only had one table for 4 people. It was my first time trying shabu-shabu, and I found it to be a fun learning experience. The food was light and healthy despite being quite filling. The variety of soups was a highlight, especially one with a distinct lemongrass aroma that brought back travel memories. I highly recommend it!
Fantastic spot. The small Japanese hot pot makes a great light and tasty lunch. Scoop broth into your bowl at the end with your noodle of choice for extra goodness. Don't worry about coming in if it's hot outside, they will have the AC on for you! Go for a medium hot pot for a big dinner.
Vegetarian options: Raw egg added to your soup bowl and cooked with your hot broth is a great way to get a little more full at a small price.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free noodles and broth available but the sauces do have gluten in them!
Parking: Parking lot is free for 2 hours and then paid after that. This is a busy spot so if your car is big, find alternative parking.

The fire spot next door had a 2 hr wait so we decided to come here. Everything was good from the broth, to the meats, to the choices.
Also props to the guy who was working tonight with his one friend. Managing multiple customers at once and running back and forth bringing things out, he really did his best. We’ll be back soon. Mahalo!
