I come here with my girlfriends often because of the food and the dessert. Love it.

Pretty disappointing experience. Came in with some clients and had one our guests have an entire glass of wine spilled on them along with the glass breaking all over their plate and clothes. Our steaks weren’t prepared as we asked them and did not taste very good. I’ve also been trying to obtain a receipt from them for 3 days and no one gets back to you at all. I expected a bit more from a place that considers itself a high end dining experience.

We celebrated our 43rd anniversary at Steak 48. We throughly enjoyed it!! The food and atmosphere was top notch. We actually live in NYC and we are used to world class steak houses and this place is on par with them. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My favorite local steak restaurant. Always great service and food. The vibe is happening and the bar is always crowded. We usually go 2-3 times per month. We know the bartenders my first name. Matt and Justin are great managers there. The original Mastros owner.

Consistently Exceptional – A Local Gem

My wife and I have had the pleasure of dining at Stake 48 in Del Mar multiple times, both for intimate date nights and for gatherings with friends. Each visit is consistently outstanding.

The service is attentive and professional, the food is beautifully prepared and flavorful, and the wine selection perfectly complements every dish. The atmosphere is welcoming and sophisticated, making every meal enjoyable and memorable.

We particularly appreciate the convenience of having such a high-quality restaurant local to us. Stake 48 delivers exceptional experiences on every level — from cuisine to service to ambiance — and has become one of our absolute favorite spots in Del Mar.

Had dinner at steak 48 tonight. Food was great, vibes were great, but what was truly special was the service Armon gave us. Probably the best waiter I've ever had. He made the experience 10x better. I will be back soon, and will be sure to request him as my waiter next time I come!

A dinner where everything goes perfectly? It exists — and it’s called Steak 48 Del Mar.
From the complimentary bread to the final sip, everything was on point. We went to celebrate my father-in-law’s birthday — he’s a huge fan of the place — and I totally get why. The ambiance, service, and every single dish were worthy of the occasion.

It was my first time at this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. We were welcomed with a warm skillet bread, freshly baked and buttery as can be. We devoured it. To kick things off, we ordered a couple of Aperol Spritz, perfectly balanced and super refreshing. Just the right mood-setter.

For starters, we had the Pacific Yellowtail Hamachi (the one in the photo) and the Rhode Island Calamari & Shrimp — which didn’t even last long enough for a picture. Both were light and beautifully prepared, letting the quality of the ingredients shine.

For the main course, my wife and I shared a roasted beet salad and a 45-Day Dry Aged Bone-In Ribeye (22oz) cooked medium to medium-well… and wow. Flavor, texture, marbling, seasoning, fat — everything was on point. We added a side of truffle butter for the steak and some unforgettable mac & cheese.

The food was so good we didn’t even leave room for dessert. We just wrapped it all up with an espresso martini that hit the spot.

Steak 48 Del Mar is one of those spots where everything adds up: top-tier service, classy-yet-relaxed ambiance, and a kitchen that overdelivers. No doubt, we’ll be back.

We celebrated our anniversary here. The hand written note thanking us and personalized dessert elevated the night. The steak was amazing. I was surprised by them overcooking and a shell in my lobster. Overall the service was amazing, the food was great, and the drinks/wine were delicious. You definitely need a reservation.

Came here tonight (10/18) with my wife and another couple. The entire staff we engaged with were very attentive from the start. Even as we were escorted to our table, all of the staff we passed were very friendly and welcoming. They seated us promptly, even while we were waiting for our friends to arrive.

Our server, Amanda, was absolutely exceptional from our first interaction to our last! Will ask for her again when we return! She was so kind and friendly, and the exact type of person you would want ensuring your experience was stellar and memorable.

The food was delicious in every regard!

We had the chicken fried lobster tails, the torched scallops + caviar, the steak knife BLT wedge, the 18oz bone-in filet with the black truffle green peppercorn sauce, the bone-in iberico chops, the walnut and strawberry rhubarb cocktails, the boursin cheese whipped potatoes, the fire roasted cauliflower, the ultimate warm vanilla caramel cake, and lastly, the peanut butter pie.

Expect to dish out some coin when dining here, but it's worth it in my book.

My experience at Steak 48 was absolutely unforgettable! We came to celebrate a birthday, and it turned out to be one of the most special nights ever.

From the moment we walked in, everything felt perfect — the atmosphere was beautiful, the food was incredible, and the people were so kind. But the two people who truly made the night amazing were April and Ashraf.

April was so sweet and heartwarming. She had the kindest smile and made me feel like I was walking into a family home instead of a restaurant. She made everything feel calm, happy, and welcoming — like she genuinely cared about us.

Ashraf was also wonderful! We had deep, meaningful conversations with him about life, family, and his hometown. It felt like talking to an old friend who really understood us. He made our dinner feel extra special and truly memorable.

I’m so happy we chose Steak 48 to celebrate. It’s not just a restaurant — it’s a place filled with warmth, kindness, and people who make you feel like family.

Thank you so much, April and Ashraf, for making our night perfect. You both made me feel so happy and grateful, and I can’t wait to come back again! ❤️
