Stella Jean's Ice Cream Point Loma

I live in Arizona and walking my found this place. To sum it up I’m addicted to this ice cream. Every time we go to San Diego I have this ice cream 2 to 3 times a day.

This was one of our favorite places in Carlsbad! Delicious ice cream (and yummy waffle cone) to enjoy in a cozy seating area!

I went out to dinner with my spouse and two friends, and later that evening we all went to Stella Jean. At dinner, we all shared plates. At Stella Jean, I got ube ice cream in a cup and my spouse and friends got peppermint ice cream in ice cream cones.

Fast forward to 3AM...everyone who had peppermint ice cream got horrible food poisoning. I had no issues, and definitely don't have some sort of iron stomach.

I called the University Heights SJ location on Thursday morning (no one answered at Point Loma) and the store manager took my information and said she'd pass it on to the higher ups and call me back. They did not. I also reported the incident to the health department.

Usually love this place but they really dropped the ball.

FOOD POISONING WARNING!!***Attempted to call multiple times to warn and provide a validated complaint of food poisoning but no one picked up!-Update: Did finally get through to an employee. They were very apologetic and professional. Nevertheless, still got sick! *** Three people of my party of four (all those that ate the Peppermint Chocolate Ice Cream) got bad food poisoning on 8JAN2025! Adding one star because they eventually answered my call the next day to warn them! And also because they got all of us so badly sick! Really bad GI issues and fever. Possibly listeria?

I love Stella Jeans! I am always here trying out new seasonal flavors, I have never tried a single flavor that I didn’t like! Everything is delicious, and the staff are amazing! Alex is so helpful and sweet! I will definitely be back soon!

The mango sticky rice was so good I cannot believe it. It was like I was eating the actual dish.

We ‘ve been coming to this place for a year. After this, won’t visit again.
Yesterday, the person serving my single split ice-cream served me so little, as if he was doing me a favor.
I asked him why did the size changed so much (it had already changed to a smaller portion), and he said sorry, that’s the way it is now, and that he’s going to re-train all people to serve that amount.
Then, why do you charge more than a single?
Terrible service, answer/excuse. So lame! Loosing customers.
Spend your money somewhere else!

The ube ice cream, s’mores ice cream, and cookie ice creams were all amazing. Every time we went it took a while for someone to help us at the counter even after ringing the bell but other than that no problems

The ice cream here is next level! So many unique, one-of-a-kind flavors you won’t find anywhere else. Skip the usual options and go for something adventurous—you won’t regret it!

Evander was amazing—super friendly, and he made the whole experience even better. He encouraged us to try as many flavors as we wanted and genuinely cared that we found our favorites. 5 stars for him, hands down! It’s like ice cream is his calling. He even remembered our names and topped off my cup for an Instagram-worthy photo (which was perfect, by the way).

We went with the chocolate (honestly the best I’ve ever had), sweet potato rocky road, mango sticky rice, and strawberry oat crumble. I’m literally craving it as I write this. Evander, you made this experience unforgettable—thank you!
