Kind of like a Sandwich version of Cheers. Friendly family owned joint for over 40 years. They take pride in their place and have many regular customers. Head to the back of the restaurant near the glass cooler and get in line. Fresh everything and clean. Try the #16 with bacon on Squaw Roll Tierrasanta style. No bathroom, trash outside.A little loud with the fridge there, soft music, slow internet.
What could work better is the signage or directions on where to first get in line. Maybe there could be an arrow where to start as there are many steps to decide in the sandwich making process. I'd also create a QR code so people can easily look on their phones. And maybe use a different sustainable cup option as styrofoam doesn't really align with the 'healthy brand' marketing.

I’ve been eating here for a year for a sub sandwich. Not even subway soulless sub down the road can compare to this place… stopped going to subway btw. Submarina#2 Food tastes fresh and delicious. Staff friendly always. Nothing more of a real sub sandwich than this place. Family owned every sub made with love. Thank you all!!!

My wife & I went yesterday and are on our way back now! Best Deli style sandwich I’ve had in SD. Dena & her mom were amazing. She was attentive to what my wife wanted & we are HOOKED. If you haven’t, you should try Submarina #2!

Great place for a sandwich, better and cheaper than jersey mikes. Place is also LGBT friendly. I've been coming here for a while and the employees gender me properly as a transgender woman. Reccomend getting #9 with white bread toasted with garlic
Sandwiches are delicious. Weird there is no trashcan (they make you use a trashcan outside that is meant for the entire strip mall). They also won't let you use their bathroom to even wash your hands. They tell you to go next door to the bank; tried this but the bank won't let you either. Cashier can be rude/ very particular. Still worth those minor issues for the tasty sandwiches...

I got a 12" turkey avocado & provolone sub Tierrasanta style and it was to die for!
If you're trying to keep it healthy omit mayo and go light on the dressing :)
The service was timely and everyone behind the counter was so friendly!

I just turned 70 yesterday and I’m from Central Texas. We’re visiting family in the San Diego area. In all those decade’s I’ve never had a sub sandwich as good as the one I had from Submarina today. Unbelievably delicious. Kudos to Submarina. Ten stars.
