Tappi Diner is a little Jamaican themed sushi spot with Bob Marley decor and music. It is the former Sushi Diner, now under new management. The menu is still largely the same old Sushi Diner menu with a few new additions. The sushi is okay and good for the price, with rolls that are good and have a really good flavor and quantity. Specific items like the Kalbi bbq ribs and the endless summer roll are noted as being better than before, cooked perfectly rather than burnt. The daily lunch special meal set is a great deal.
Reviews on the service and experience are mixed. Some report that service was great, really nice, quick and courteous, especially on a Saturday. Others find a terrible and frustrating lack of customer appreciation and service. A common complaint is that service is terribly slow, with long waits for food and to be seated even when tables are open, attributed to the place being under staffed. While some fully recommend it and will definitely be back, others feel the experience hasn’t been good since the change and the food is good but not like it used to be. The place can get pretty busy even on a week night.
