I visit this place every voice I'm in San Diego. Fully vegan menu and I brought two omnivores with me this time and both loved their orders. I've never been disappointed here.

Amazing flavorful vegan tacos. I loved the Carne Asada, Barbacoa, and Plantain con mole versions. The vegan ice cream was delicious as well. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was served pretty quickly as well

Was it delicious? Eh I'vehad WAY BETTER. Did I spend $35 without a drink yes- will I stop in again probably not.
First let me say the atmosphere and Customer Service were EXCELLENT- now let me explain why I probably won't be back. The food is just ok, over priced, and not enough of a portion size for the price. A side guacamole and chips cost $11.55- see picture. There IS NO reason the should cost this much.
My guacamole does not taste Mexican- it tastes very much American, just avocado loaded with tomatoes, onions, and onion powder- I didn't taste cilantro, lime juice, or salt.
My black beans taste like they came from a can and were seasoned with salt and what tasted like a smokey flavor. My rice was giving Rice-A-Roni- not good at all.
My taco choices were veggie, chorizo, and asada- couldn't taste the difference between the chorizo and asada but were flavorful. I also ordered a side of guacamole (2oz) $3.15- cost more than the actual avocado.
$35.08 wasted- this amount should have included a drink and or a sweet treat.

Ehhhhhh…
Barbacoa was good. The asada had a vegan beef jerky flavor to it, not so much an asada flavor…
Their rice is very bland and their refried beans are also very bland/dry.
Too close to the mexican border to be this inauthentic. Also too pricey for the lack of flavor.
Chips were good. Tortillas were good.

Omg the food is so good. I got the taco platter with tacos made of seitan and jack fruit. I’m not vegan. Everything was SO delicious. And even though two of the tacos had seitan, it was prepared differently and tasted different from each other. Even the black beans were so flavorful. Definitely a new favorite, for meat eaters and vegans/vegetarians alike!

One of the best vegan Mexican restaurants in the states. Enjoyed their Barbacoa Taco and their California Burrito so much that I came back two more times in two days. Whole heartedly wish them the best and I hope they open chains in Northern California and beyond.

Tacotarian is consistently providing quality food and great service. It’s a staple in the San Diego vegan community. Highly recommend for omnivores and vegans! They also have many options for gluten free diets as well. Highly recommend.

Food came out in literally five minutes and it was so bland. Tried 4 tacos and nachos and more. Go to city tacos for good vegan and vegetarian tacos. They never disappoint.

Do you like tacos? If so please visit and try these. Pineapples so plentiful my girlfriend destroyed them like a crazy tiger 🐅
Nice little place good tacos
The flautas were crispy and amazing, the fish, plantain con mole, al pastor and barbacoa tacos were also equally good (recommended by the friendly staff). This place is a must-try because you will most definitely enjoy. 10/10
Seriously the best tacos and horchata! Went there almost everyday it was so good!
One of my favorite places to eat in San Diego. Great tacos.
