The lady selling the tamales was a total sweetheart! I’m from Sonora Mexico and I hadn’t been able to find good tamales in SD but the rajas con queso one was AMAZING 10/10 I would recommend and I would go back. If you're looking for a tamal spot you need to come here. // The lady selling the tamales was so cute! A long time ago they were very good, they gave you napkins, a spoon or a fork. Nowadays they no longer have any flavor and are expensive, of course, if they were delicious, the price doesn't matter, I won't go back.

It was getting close to Christmas so I had cravings for tamales. I remember reading through the San Diego foodie forums on Facebook and they said that there were some ladies selling tamales out of these carts in City heights that tasted great. I decided to go to the one on University as I heard that was the better one. It was 2 days before Christmas so I wanted to get a few so that we could have it for Christmas dinner. My boyfriend also loves tamales for Christmas. He said it felt more like Christmas when you eat tamales on Christmas Eve. I got 12 tamales for the two of us. Five pork, five beef, and two cheese and jalapeno. They were hot and steaming as I got them. I had to try one since they were nice and fresh and it was delicious. We saved the rest for Christmas Eve. It was a nice dinner with our tamales and our wine.
