Tapas & Beers | French and Spanish Restaurant

Tapas & Beers is a wonderful, small restaurant serving excellent food from a varied menu. The owners are delightful. The butternut squash soup tastes like dessert! The freshly baked mini baguette comes hot, straight from the oven. We have eaten the pasta dishes and sandwiches. All are excellent. We highly recommend dinner here if you are in the area, especially for a performance at the San Diego Civic Theater, Jacob's Symphony Hall, or the Balboa Theater.

This restaurant surpassed our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. We are already planning to go back again.

Amazing host/owners!!! The food is incredible! A must try for anyone going to downtown!!! Great place to have dinner before the shows/theater in downtown San Diego. Just a couple blocks away from the Civic Center and-or Balboa Theater. Highly recommend! You will leave with an amazing experience and tummy full!!

Amazing restaurant. Tucked away around the corner from the Westin Gaslamp in San Diego. Everything is made fresh by the wonderful chef. So many great choices and great drinks. I was so full at the end of the meal, I didn't eat dessert. Though I wish I could have. 10 out of 10 for sure.

Came across Tapas and Beers via Open Table and was not disappointed at all. The food was outstanding and everything was fresh and tasty. Wine and beer options were really good as well. One of the best meals I had in San Diego during the week without a doubt. Strongly recommend and will definite return when I am in San Diego.

This restaurant was an amazing experience. Julie, the owner was extremely friendly, informative, and funny. The food and drinks were excellent. Highly recommend the sausage platter. The banana cream cocktail was delicious! Will return in the future based on the entire experience. Go try this great spot serving French and Spanish cuisine. Also nice and close to the Civic Theatre.

Our waitress was awsome. We had a caprese salad,mussels and a chicken flatbread. All delicious.

Our party was situated on the top deck area and it was so nice and private. Our waitress was amazing and the food was delicious!

Went in at 7pm and the restaurant is completely empty. Only the salad and the fries is actually good , the pane con tomate and the butternut squash is really bland, and the sweet and sour calamari is really really sweet , it should be under the dessert item. When I complain about the calamari , only offer me some lime or lemon

We had a great experience at Taps & Beer in Downtown San Diego! The owner personally greeted us when we arrived, which made us feel really welcome. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, and the tapas were excellent—fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

The owners are very welcoming. They provided excellent service and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The food was fresh and very tasty as I remembered it 6 years ago when I visited San Diego. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes a family oriented hospitality and a variety of food to choose from.

Tapas & Beer is a great spot. Welcoming & chill vibe, friendly service (Thank You Julie & team), solid beer list, and a delicious menu. Our favorite bites are their Lobster Bisque, and their Smoked Salmon Flatbread.

Close to the hotel I was staying at for the conference this place had a good selection of food and beers on tap. Service was really friendly and the food was enjoyable.

I dont know what i expected or how we got so lucky. This place is amazing. We had neither tapas nor beer. Get the brie with the homemade strawberry preserves. Get anything with the strawberry preserves! My husband had the steak, with the cream mushroom sauce and about fell out of the chair. I had the lambchops. They were outrageously good and cooked perfectly. We also had the Basque cheesecake top with the strawberries, and we are now ruined. Run do not walk.
