The food was delicious, but a little pricey for the tiny amount you got. Waitstaff was great, and the ambience was nice.

CLOSED forever. All liquor has been moved to Urge a few doors down. The website is still active. Don’t even try.

This place is apparently closed for “remodeling”. But according to neighbors, no work is being done and it has been closed for quite a while. We always liked the place in the past.

Inside of the bar is smelling not so good. Outside, on the terrace was ok to stay. Many local beers, I tried the german hazy style Hefeweizen, nothing wow but still ok. The food was nothing more than average.

We have been coming to the Barrel Room since it opened and have never had a worse experience. Our server didn't know the drink or good menu at all. He broke a wine glass at the foot of our table and the worse part was the food. The lamb chops (our usual favorite) were dry and tough with little flavor. I ordered that short rib pasta. It was small chunks of meat on a bed of noodles with some peas thrown on. No sauce at all, hence, no flavor at all. I also miss the couches and arm chairs for lounging.

Sea bass was the most fishy tasting piece of fish we have ever had. Brisket dip was not fresh as described. Sub par food. Pretty disappointing. Service was good but had to overcome such poor quality food.

It was too expensive. Sit on patio because restaurant smells old and needs a good cleaning. There were cobwebs from window to wine glass, and the windowsill was thick with debris. The Sunday menu had limited options, extremely overpriced for what it was. I'm not bothering with this place anymore. Our waiter had a big patio party to attend to but did a great job trying to accommodate us.

Server didn't check to see if we needed anything. Wanted to get another drink but server always disappeared before I could catch

Use to be a favorite restaurant. Service was poor. We had to get our own waters and settings. Burger overdone , jambalaya was awful, shrimp not cooked all the way. Very disappointed

Brooks and Aaron made our day. They do so well at crating the best atmosphere. Sophie’s our usual server and she always knows the best drinks.

The food was excellent but the service was slow at times. The reason for this appeared to be because they were very short-staffed and for that reason gave a 4 star for service. The few staff we saw or helped us were hustling all evening. The menu has been pared down significantly, even when being able to order off the Urge menu as well. Hopefully TBR menu will have some additions soon,!

One visit to the Barrel Room in Rancho Bernardo and you will be hooked forever on their incredible menu of eclectic American cuisine, along with a fabulous selection of “Top Shelf” wine and a plethora excellent craft beer. Some of our favorite ‘to-die-for-entrees' include the Pistachio Crusted Sea Bass, the Chicken Parmesan, Jambalaya, and the Short Rib Pappardelle. In the sandwich section, the Brisket Dip, Brothers Pastrami Sandwich, and the creative burgers are huge and just perfect... as are the custom salads, delicious soups and fantastic deserts. To compliment your “extremely tasty and very delicious” dinner, Christina E., General Manager ensures that your dining experience starts with a warm and friendly “family welcome” along with the Barrel Room's amazing customer centric ambiance that is woven into this restaurant's DNA. Christina's all-star team of hosts/hostesses, servers, and chef's will (without a doubt) elevate your dining out expectations and your “personal standard of restaurant excellence!” which ultimately contribute to making this an evening to remember and will have you returning in the very near future. Closing, we congratulate the Christina and her team for providing this “best ever” dining experience! Jim & Emy

When you go to a wine restaurant and order a bottle of wine, you expect the server to understand how to serve wine! We were not given a taste after opening the bottle and she didn't leave the cork so we had to drink the whole bottle before leaving. This used to be a wine restaurant; not so sure any more!

Very average. Wine list was very good with helpful descriptions. French onion soup was good. Lamb chops were so over seasoned they were almost impossible to eat. Pappardelle was decent. Service was very indifferent. For the high price very average
