This lovely restaurant is my go to for celebrating a special occasion. Birthdays for friends is especially nice because the staff go out of their way to make sure the event is notable. Food, ambiance, and service are all outstanding.
Excellent dinner. Friendly and professional staff, great food, amazing wine list (from $50 to $10,000). We stayed toward the lower end of the spectrum, but ymmv. Everything was just very thoughtful and we had a great time. They were also very nice to acknowledge my birthday. Loved it.
A San Diego gem in a very unique setting. The food was stellar and the wine shop is one to dazzle. It's so unexpected there and I almost don't want to share because I want to keep it a secret!
Definitely a place to visit in San Diego, a hidden gem that deserves alot of recognition. Excellent Food, Amazing Wines and of course Outstanding Service by Morro, Karla, Ian and of course the amazing Chef. Highly recomend it since its one of the few Fine Dining Experiences in San Diego Area.
It is a hidden gem. There are many positives but outstanding from all other great restaurants is the staff. The staff is professional and HONESTLY friendly. The food is creative in a modern French/American mode with twists. The wine list is exceptional and fairly priced.
I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The food and service are consistently excellent. Love the fish of the day and the bread. I had the cream of cauliflower soup this time and it was delicious. My friend had the cold watermelon soup and it was very flavorful! Having lunch here is a treat?
We had a last minute change from 3 people to 4 people, and I noticed that they originally set up the table perfectly for 3 with the birthday decorations on it. The team quickly and discreetly rearranged the seating to allow for the additional person, and no one in my party even noticed. The service can't be beat here! Shoutout to all the front staff for their outstanding service!
We came across this old favorite (its been years!) - what a great evening. Professional service and the food was outstanding (seabass, short ribs and filet) and found some great wine downstairs to enjoy it with. Will be back!
Incredible as usual! Mushroom appetizer is so delicious, you think it can't get any better, the the Duck Confit and Short Rib dishes came out and did not disappoint. Duck had the perfect crispy skin, and the short rib was so tender it melted in your mouth. Wine list is great with may choices - obviously, since they sell wine - if you've never been - GO!
The fish was excellent. My wife loved the pork. My daughter greatly enjoyed the tenderloin, cooked to a perfect medium rare. The desserts were exquisite. But it's really the people that make it such a great place to go for special occasions.

Another fabulous, luxurious dinner at San Diego's premier hidden gem for fine dining, exceptional boutique and rare wines, with unparalleled service with impeccable attention to detail. For the finest French-style cuisine in Southern California: Morro, your chef, and the team at Winesellar can't be beat. 5-stars, 6 if I could!
Portions small. Food generally under seasoned. Snails so so. 1/3 of a breast of duck and some mixed veg from Vons . Reviews who talk about hamburgers should be removed. Deserts expensive. Won't go back
Everyone was so courteous and helpful. It was my Mom's 86th birthday and everyone treated her royally. I've always loved this restaurant. The food is excellent and the surroundings just perfect!
So happy to have rediscovered this restaurant. Close to home and the food and service are outstanding! The dining room could really use a makeover which takes away from the overall experience. Caught in a time warp. But we can't say enough about the food and service here. Fabulous!!!
This restaurant continues to be one of the hidden gems of San Diego. The new chef appears to be on his A-game. The prices have increased and, as a result, its not the value that it used to be but the quality is still there.
